  1. What's funny about New York is they rushed the legislation through so fast, they forgot to exempt law enforcement. And since most police departments in the state use 15 round magazines (the new limit is 7), they're gonna have to turn them all in. A new AWB is not going to get through Congress. Even the biggest, most vocal gun control supporters have said this, including Joe Biden himself. Now they're lowering their expectations and focusing instead on high capacity magazines (anything that holds over 10 rounds) and universal background checks. A ban on high cap mags would probably be easier to pass than an AWB, but even that's probably unlikely. Personally, I have no problem with universal background checks. But I DO NOT support any kind of AWB or magazine ban.
  2. That pretty well sums it up. Any new assault weapons ban is DOA. They'll probably try for a stand alone ban on high cap mags, but even that'll be extremely unlikely to get through. Universal background checks will probably be passed. But any new gun restriction or ban will NOT make it through the House, even if by some miracle it gets through the Senate. Here are a couple of articles that explain everything. http://www.cnn.com/2013/01/16/politics/senate-democrats-gun-legislation/index.html http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887324081704578234010962821032.html
  3. I thought the British Army was switching over to the Sig P226? Now they have Glocks?
  4. Let me clear something up: Alex Jones is a total nutjob. I believe he runs the conspiracy theory website Infowars. Of course Morgan would bring him on his show to make all gun advocates look like whacked out extremists. He makes a few good points, but when he starts going off about 9/11 conspiracy theories, I was screaming at him to shut up. The media is trying to do anything it can to garner up support for Obama and his new gun control agenda. That being said, the chances of any new gun control getting passed are pretty much zero. There's a small chance something might make it through the Senate, but even if it does, it'll be very watered down. When it gets to the House, it'll die before even getting to the floor for a vote, let alone passed. Boehner will make sure of that.
  5. http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-505263_162-57561009/petition-to-deport-piers-morgan-gains-traction/ It already has 80,000 signatures. This part cracked me up, though. "A petition that asks the federal government to "secure resources and funding" to build a Death Star by 2016 has garnered 32,000 signatures, enough to guarantee a response from the administration."
  6. Seriously, dude, who's side are you on?
  7. Here's an interesting article on gun ownership rates and political affiliation in the US. http://fivethirtyeight.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/12/18/in-gun-ownership-statistics-partisan-divide-is-sharp/
  8. WRONG!! The only American military personnel allowed to carry weapons on US military bases on American soil are MP's. You can thank Clinton for that. Most of the MP's are stationed at the base entrance, which is why the shooting went on as long as it did.
  9. He used a Bushmaster AR-15 as his primary weapon. He also had a 10mm Glock (he used it to kill himself), and a Sig 9mm that he never fired. Politicians are doing their hardest to demonize the AR-15, but banning it is pretty much impossible. It's literally the most popular rifle in the country.
  10. There isn't much he can do. For starters, the Republicans control the House of Representatives, and they'll never vote for any gun restrictions. Even among Democrats (who control the Senate) gun control isn't exactly popular, especially the ones from rural areas known as Blue Dog Democrats.
  11. Stupid? That's funny. Call us what you want, but the fact remains that we've done a hell of a job at keeping the antis at bay all these years. Our method of not giving an inch has worked a lot better than the British shooting communities tactic of throwing everyone else under the bus, and then hoping through some screwed up kind of wishful thinking that they won't come after your guns next.( Sorry if that sounded a bit harsh, guys, but I felt like that needed to be said.) I'm glad I live in a country where we gun owners have the numbers to keep from being bullied by politicians with agendas. As a law abiding gun owner, I REFUSE to be scapegoated for society's problems and be lumped in with psychos like this.
  12. They're fun, but very difficult birds to successfully hunt.
  13. It looks like it may actually happen. Assad has prepared chemical weapons. Meanwhile, the USS Eisenhower battle group, along with the USS Iwo Jima, are sitting off the Syrian coast as we speak.
  14. I know more than one of you on here will be upset over this lol. http://www.dailymail...unich-home.html
  15. The gun pictured is I believe a Mossberg 590, and is illegal in the UK on barrel length alone.
  16. Yeah, the Chinese and Indians will be more than happy to help you out after the wonderful treatment they received from the British in years past...
  17. Legalization is long overdue. I've never understood what was so bad about marijuana. You smoke, pass out, and then wake up hungry enough to eat everything in your house.
  18. "What is it that has to be killed on a peaceful cold Sunday in November?" How about the self righteous d-bag leaving me notes on my vehicle...
