Keep both eyes open and shoot on instinct, which is what most people will do thats where i get it all wrong at the clay grounds because i have had an air rifle for a long time i keep trying to aim and close one eye :unsure:

i have just bought my first gun for around the same price range that you are looking at . It is a beretta 686e sporter and it fits like a dream i have used it for clays and rough shooting and i can tell you now it was a great buy for my first gun

as said they are a great training aid if not abused you just need to get the setting right so it is more of a discomfort than actual pain for the dog

here is a pic from today , I got an invite to go out with auto culto and after an unsuccessful time waiting for the pigeons ( they new it was going to rain ) we had a walk round and on the last hedge row before we were going to go home these two rabbits popped out so they got both barrels

thats good to hear i didnt want to struggle when out in the rough ,, thanks peeps you have put my mind at rest as i didnt want just a gun for clays i wanted an all rounder

not sure now if I have bought myself the right gun when I was in the shop I told him I wanted a gun for clays and for rough shooting so we tried quite a few different guns out .. the one that felt the best was the 686e nice and light and a good overall feel to it .. when I showed my mate a pic of it he recons its to big of a gun for rough shooting and only good for clays so is he right who on here has used a 686e for rough shooting and how did you get on with it

each to there own , if you use them right then no probs .. i used one and it worked wonders on my stafff . It was mad wouldnt do any commands !!! And this is not only dangerous for the dog but also the public .. so i got hold of a collar zapped her about 4 times and now shes like a different dog my mate also tried it on him . And he could only last up to level 5 and that hurt him like mad so the dog only had it on 3 ....

when i put my shotgun together for the first time yesterday i then pressed the trigger as i wanted to take the pressure off the springs . I have now read in the manual that you only press the trigger if you are using snap caps to stop you damaging the firing pins B) would i have done any damage just doing it the once
