  1. If it's a CZ527 you will need special mounts because the dovetail is a weird size. I have just put a Leupold 8.5-25 x 50 with a 30mm tube on mine and bought a set of Warne Maxima mounts from Optics Warehouse. http://opticswarehouse.co.uk/products.asp?cat=352 which fit perfectly.. P.S. They were the high mounts
  2. I can just slide a cigarette paper between my scope and barrel and it shoots fine even with a hot barrel.
  3. BSA Sweet .223 6-18 x 50 about £110.00
  4. I recently bought a pair of Caldwell electronic ear defenders from Sportsman for only £20.00, I can't fault them. I've never used electronic ones before so I have no comparison but these ones are really comfortable and the sound quality is excellent, and having worn them on a range next to someone shooting 300 win mag they cut out the sound perfectly.
  5. CZ452 Style, Eley Subs, 2000 rnds, no problems.
  6. The mod counts as a separate weapon on the application form; so on one line you would put .22lr B/A Rifle, and on the next line put .22lr sound moderator (at least that's what I did for all my rifles and I now have a legal mod for each rifle.
  7. "Is it worth swapping a CZ 452 style for a ruger 10/22? " NO!
  8. It's amazing what a one armed man can achieve.
  9. I was wondering that myself.
  10. For Christ's sake what is a person like this doing having Rottweweilers? With comments like this he should be banned from having any sort of dog! How about turning around and walking away from a potential hostile situation (as I do with my Terrier). But I suppose a "real man" like you would consider that a bit sissy. Later edited on re-reading Mutley's post: What a ******* ******. PS Begins with F & W
  11. This is what these people thought. "The dog was as soft as a puppy..." http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime...her-430491.html
  12. I was given one for Christmas and decided to test it out by removing and replacing my scope and mounts on my .223. When I went to the range after having zeroed with the Leupold Boresighter it was shooting 17inches high at 100yds! I now simply sight down the barrel and align the scope with that, it's more accurate. I've tried the boresighter with my .22 and .17 and it was well out both times. So I can't really recomend this boresighter to you.
  13. Wow thanks guys, just got in from the pub and didn't know it was on. As an old mate of mine once said "there are two types of people, those who like Pink Floyd and those who don't" (well we were both pretty stoned at the time!)
  14. You beat me to it, damn you ! Robert PS Save a slice for me . Oh, as for Bill Oddie - nasty little squit. Is that as good as hair pie?
  15. Sometimes it's a ****** being self employed!
  16. Thanks! Oops I promised not to do that; sorry, I have just given myself a severe slap on the wrist
  17. I make no apologies in getting this post to the top of the list, but I promise not to do it again
  18. Well now I've got your attention, please check out this website http://www.freewebs.com/equineurgency/index.htm If you can't help then please pass it on to any one who can or knows someone who can. We have just rescued 'Tango' and he should arrive this weekend.
  19. Don't waste your money, I don't think that a DM80 is going to make enough difference to justify the cost.
  20. Many years ago whilst I was on a long trip to the States I went through a lot of hassel trying to get a customised Springfield .45 pistol exported back to the UK. I had a slot on my ticket for it and the manufacturers were happy to do the custom job and export it. But the stumbling block was the US customs paperwork. I ended up having to apply for an end user certificate as an arms dealer! It proved to be a fairly impossible task so when I got back to the UK I bought one through a UK dealer, (though not the custom job I wanted). Hopefully things have changed for the better now and your hypothetical friend can gift you the hypothetical guns.

    An Apology

I really dont want to read your posts if you are typing them with your 'stick' Hi Hunter a real case of reading between the lines eh anyway jaywards fix is brilliant and I can see everything in lower case Wahey!!, another great use of the internet. It must be so frustrating having visual problems, hopefully Jaywards fix has made them less so.
  22. Brilliant chap! He kept me off the streets and out of trouble when I was a youngster, and I can still start a fire by rubbing two boy scouts together.
  23. Didn't work for me. After my quick dip in warm water I couldn't find a paper towel big enough.
  24. "I am hacked off with reading comments from ..." Hear, hear. Fully agree with you, it really gets my dander up. Having perused various internet forums it seems that us British are probably the worst offenders when it comes to spelling and grammer. I put it down to low teaching standards and sheer bloody laziness. If you look at a lot of forums with American posters the quality of the grammer and spelling makes us look like neanderthals - and the irony is, we taught them how to speak the language! Tin hat on time, I think I can hear some incoming.
  25. Best thing I ever did was joining the Royal Engineers. Bloody hard work, **** pay and conditions, brilliant mates and fantastic memories.
