  13. Evening team, Im looking to send a Beretta 686 S stock and forend off to be satin oil finished. The current lacquer finish is looking somewhat shabby after many years. Do you know of anyone who is good? Im not wanting to spend massive bucks on it as its not worth that much. Send me options if you wouldn't mind? Ideally with references. Cheers 👍
  14. This is my very worn and very trusty old lady beretta A301, a true warrior of reliability and as soulful as it is utilitarian. There is, however, one thing the Italians got wrong......and that is the dainty little charge handle on this gun. I am not a large handed chap, nor am I fussy with this sort of thing, but outside of the ideal warm summers day clay shoot, this charge handle leaves alot to be desired, and so, for those cold winter shoots with gloves covering numb and clumsy fingers, I decided to set about knocking up a SpaceWelder custom alternative! First ill need some suitable 300 series stainless steel knick knacks to knock on: This should do just fine (the wife is at work shhhhhhh everythings fine don't say things) needs.....more chopping.... I had some 304 stainless tube in the odds and **** bin, if you dont have any just use some noodles or hoola hoops (plain salted only or you'll cock up the weld) Welded together little inside big. The aim was to keep everything lightweight so the end result isnt much heavier than the original since the gas ports and recoil spring combination on guns like this are set with the overall weight of the bolt assembly in mind. Zip them together with my cutlery bits... Spit on them and rub them against jeans vigorously..... TADAAAA! Like magic.....except in total, when counting **** scratching and generally getting distracted every five minutes like a gold fish after too much sugar, this took....most of my damn day SO here is my beloved a301 with the original boring and dainty charge handle. And here she is with new shoes and red lipstick! (ok a bit dramatic, here she is with her nails done....) Much better! And as a bonus it doesn't try to pinch and slice my fingers against the receiver like the original did! I hope you enjoyed this spur of the moment 'Ive got a day off and im bored' project, if people like this sort of thing ill make a point of posting similar projects for your entertainment! Oh and yes I can hear you "WHY DID YOU MAKE THREEEEEEE OF THEM!?".....the answer to that is basically because there was enough knife..... Incidentally, anyone out there with an A300/A301/A302/A303 or any other compatible Beretta who would like one of these spare two bolt handles, I would happily oblige you for the price of postage alone since I havent the need for 3 of the bloody things. Thanks for reading, keep that trigger itch fed! SpaceWelder.

  19. Hi all. Quick enquiry to gauge opinion on the following 'dilemma'. Recently granted my SGC and looking to make my first purchase. After a visit to my local RFD, I have given myself a choice of EITHER a second-hand Beretta A400 Lite (black synthetic) OR new Beretta A300, same finish. With the new gun (at a price of £915) there's a three year warranty (option of 10 years for a £50 fee to Beretta) and 3 chokes. With the used gun (at a price of £995) there's a three month warranty and 3 chokes. To most, and to an extent to me too, that looks like a no-brainer of a decision. But, I seek the views of more experienced shooters and Beretta owners please. The RFD lists the A400 as being in good condition and having had light usage. My eyes can see that indeed it does look in good condition, but not so easy to determine previous use. (It has that kind of GunPod feature that claims to count every round put through it, but perhaps that info is on an app in the possession of the previous owner.) It also has that Kick-Off recoil technology in the butt. For a fee I secured it for a demonstration and put 51 shots through it. It jammed 3 times in that session which could have been due to the design of the budget cartridges provided at the clay centre. Direct comparison with A300 not possible as no demonstrators available. I don't want to exceed a budget of £1k (still got peripherals to consider on top), and I'd prefer a (fairly) low-maintenance gun that may have better appeal to a used market if/when I upgrade or if I find I'm not involved enough to justify possession. Going for a synthetic stock as I found I got a bit precious about a nice wooden stock on a Theoben air-rifle I had and I don't want to amplify that on an expensive shotgun. If budget allows further down the road in life, I may look at that option then. So, is the A400 so far superior to the A300 that it's worth the trade-off, or am I really not gonna notice the difference? Usage will be purely for clays with, perhaps, a very slim chance that coastal water-fowling opportunities will come my way. It may well be that in the time taken to decide, the A400 sells to another buyer and this whole post becomes moot...or rhetorical...but I'd rather make an informed decision, see? My own internet research has, thus far, proved inconclusive. Thank you for taking the time to at least read this.
  20. Hi Everyone, New Member to the forum, Been Clay Shooting just over a year now and loving every minute of it. You will usually find me at JJ's Shooting ground in Dartford on a Saturday or Sunday trying to get my name on the scoreboard. My Bang stick is a Benelli 828u Sport or the Beretta A400Xcel Black. Ammo i use is Fiocchi F3 piston / Black Sport Been using the Lyalvel express English Sporter last couple of weeks as i won them in the comp (must be doing something right) Question i have is ... Gamebore Velocity Vs Lyalvel Power Gold / Reds I'm using Muller U2 chokes in the 828u and the standard extend chokes in the A400 Whats the best Carts for around £220 per 1000? Would love to get the Benelli adjusted to me if anyone has ideas of a good place to go locally? Thanks for reading

  24. Hi, My dad has a left handed Beretta 686, about 25 years old. Would a new(er) 686 stock still fit? Or do they require some "fitting" He wants to convert it to right handed for his grandson. Any ideas where I might get a used one/set? Might need a little taking off the stock.. Thanks Rich
  25. After buying a couple of shirts at the Sandringham Fair I realised I have far too many. So these will be £15 each (inc post) or £65 for the lot posted.
