flytie
I have just been looking at ultrasonic case cleaners, is anyone using or had experience of one? What would you recommend? Many thanks, ft
steve_b_wales
I bought one of Ebay, from a reputable dealer,,but it was faulty. He changed it, but I found it useless for cleaning cases. I recommend a vibrating cleaner, which I use anyway. Can't say about the overall performance though. I can also clean jewellery in mine. steve. miniwizard
i bought a pro.one for use in a dentist, it will not clean the cases like a tumbler one does,i use it to get all the polish off when ive put the through the tumbler, other than that,i would'nt bother, there a waste of money,i'm going to see what the dishwasher does..

TheHunter
Get a tumbler, place it in the garage and let it run for hours and hours (Sorry my neighbours have turned the other half of the garage into a gym and play loud music) just a little pay back. markbivvy
not seen anything that cleans the inside of a case as good as a ultra sonic cleaner.
flytie
Is there any particular make you recommend lads? Or any to avoid?? I like the warm water and vinegar idea, especially as you say it is effective. I will have to check Lidl or Aldi web-sites and see if they have any. They seem to be much cheaper than the tumblers and a lot more easily found too. Many thanks for the replies. I will check out the web-site you suggest HD, thank you! I have a lot to learn on this reloading job. Got the bench set up, and the kit ordered, when that arrives then it will be a trip out to buy primers, powder and bullets. Come on postie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ft

Dunkield
The cases I cleaned with water and vinegar (without ultrasonics) were sparkling clean inside and out. There is a picture somewhere on this forum of a case I cut in half after cleaning. Adding ultrasonics into the mix can only make it better/quicker. flytie
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?menuno=12991 here you go SS, many thanks for that but I got one from a "freecycler" yesterday while picking up a chair for my reloading bench. In the course of conversation with the previous owner of the chair, i explained that i was setting up a reloading bench and that i was now pretty well kitted up, the only thing i needed was a case cleaner. Bless her, she bought a load of jewellry making kit but has never had the time and wondered if an ultrasonic jewellry cleaner would help me out! What could i say but "yes please". Its one of the 7000 ones on the maplins site! Flytie - ULTRASONIC CASE CLEANING Fantastic, HD you are a gem Many thanks. ft
garyb
I do... 3 turns in Warm water / vinegar mix - about 1 part vingear to 3 parts water. One final cycle, with the brass on end - I find it help to deep clean the primer pocket. Then... I also do a cycle of Bi Carb of soda, to neutralize the vinegar after cleaning Don't use to much, just a tea spoon.
