John_R
Best .22 short range pellet (on any quarry) for me has been the RWS Super Hollowpoint, very good out to 20/25 yards but no good beyond that. aaron airgunner
what range are you shooting them at mate? if its not past 15-20yrds then bisley pest control are brill.
30-6
For rats I use a AA s200 in .22. RWS super H point - tight to feed into barrel, worried that the "flathead" would prematurely wear o ring seal of a PCP, but accuracy / kills good out to 20 yds Bisley Magnum - tight to feed into barrel, really stops them where they are out to 20 yds AA 16g fields - feeds like silk into barrel, made out of soft lead so kills well, out to 30+ yds. Remember short range shooting, some of your pellets will pass through rats so safe backstop. I found that if they were only showing their head from a hole to leave it as if they were shot and blocked the hole, it seemed less rats would come out, better to bait outside and get them in the open. birdman99
Thats why im asking about the best .22 pells for ratting at 20 yards or closer i want somthing that wont pass through and will stop em dead, what do you mean safe backstop,if your referring to making sure there isnt anything at the other side then there wont be as itll be in a allotment,i got told vermpells are the best of the best for this job
farmboy99
ive always just used accupels seems to do the job alright!
Paladin
Find a pellet that you are comfortable with for all targets , one thats accurate, that way you wont confuse yourself with how much to allow this way or that Buy a few boxes and do plenty of plinking so that you can put that pellet where you want it, it will kill it I use Field Target Trophy in my Venom 80 and my Rapid 7. Rat or Rabbit beware! Paladin

I just looked up Verminpell and they look just like any other flat-head to me. Probably OK as well to be honest, but the two I mentioned are really very good, and the RWS are a good price. Tomm
i would also say bisley pest control. A good heavy pellet perfect for close range ratting although no good beyond about 20 yards i would also recommend BSA interceptor for the job both perfect pellets for the job.
