sako751sg
Had a walk round a farm i get on,approx 200 acres, and it produced an outstanding bag.Quite windy which turned some of the birds leading to some sporting and highish shots.Only lost the one pheasant which went into a wood and was a strong runner.Shot with the Browning 525 using Eley Superb 28g in 7.5s,which i find a good cartridge for walked up shooting. utectok
great day well done I've never thought that 7.5 carts much good on pheasants I tend to use 5 and 6 carts but you did well on them! sako751sg
Only use the 7.5s for walked up,and dont risk silly ranges as the lack of pellet size would lead to birds carrying on.Choked full and 3/4 too,and rarely birds get through the pattern.Agree with the 5s and 6s for all else though, esp the pigeons where the larger shot size is usually a need.We all have different preferences, but they have always worked for me.Luckily i know my limits. sako751sg
Very lucky Magman. Most of the surrounding has been sown as winter crop and the stubble is a great magnate for birds of all species.Unlimited scoff for them all through the winter. I guess with the tight choke it's pretty deadly as you have proved!
