Stand 3 was the easy part of the tower. We walked around to the other side of the tower and took the crossers off the very top, and not the easy driven from the middle that the others did. As said, stand 3 only had 1 trap working when we got to it.

I can't claim the Queue Anxiety unfortunately, that one I think was Mungler. :good: You seem to care an awful lot what people think of you, don't be afraind to open up a little! :good::lol:

You have been to the Baz school of winning haven't you, Quite how you deduce that I care what people think of me I really do not know. Still never mind, keep telling yourself that you shot the harder clays and therefore must have won the day and sooner or later you might believe yourself.

Personally I don't suffer from pressure, on the next shoot bring Digweed and Faulds for all I care. While I won't beat them I won't go to pieces either.

I thought I would leave Vol. 2 to you,

After all the "Event anxiety" "Trigger freeze" and the latest one I heard today was "Queue Anxiety" are all excuses I would not have the neck to use in a book, even less so mention in public.

EVERYBODY on my squad shot well, Bigweed started like a train, very positive, good clean breaks, all he has to do is to avoid that dreaded "leaves on the line syndrome" which de-railed his score , I'm sure he thinks too much about missing and his technique suffers as a result...??

PDLM's approach was good, stance and set up excellent, OK, he looked like he was trying to conduct the London Symphony Orchestra with his gun barrels on some stands, he also had more chips than Harry Ramsdens, but his general approach and timing were excellent.

I know Philr has achieved many International honours in Trap shooting, it's in his blood, for somebody that doesn't shoot any Sporting, he shot brilliantly, a true "natural" shot.

Mungler's technique was sound, (sorry, but I don't believe those rumours put about by MC that Mung spent the entire week before Xmas at High lodge practicing), very solid gun mount, picked up each bird early and adapted his approach accordingly, very good basic technique, could have, (and should have), shot a much bigger score.

So there we have it, all of these guys have so much potential to do well in the Sporting Clay shooting scene, all they've got to do is to learn from others, keep burning up those shells and get out and shoot new grounds to gain that extra experience.

When's the next PW get together....??..are we gonna have to wait until the Essex Masters, I'll be more than happy with a couple of 95's there..!! :good:

I have to say I found 65% of the High Lodge targets we saw and shot quite un-inspiring - no sim pairs, no battues and nothing genuinely difficult etc etc.

I was bored to tears after 2 hours and wouldn't go back to shoot that layout again, and as for the queues 3 hours plus to shoot 100 birds - well it's just as well Pete was there to keep us entertained :good:

I was amazed at Cat's focus and concentration - a rather obvious achiever in the sport as shown by his almost perfect score card. I very much doubt I could beat him, but being respectably behind his score given my "30 minute" maximumn drive rule for most of my shooting suits me.

I think I might have a stab at some FITASC provided the 30 min rule can be maintained.

Good day out and nice to see how it should be done properly.

I have to say Matt,

I was glad to see Bazza raise his game a little today and manage to equal your excellent score, he has been lacking behind for far too long. :good::lol::good:

We paid £26.50 for a round and Bazzas group paid £36.00. According to Mungs reckoning they paid for about 200 extra clays between 5 of them.

I reckon with an extra 40 clays I could have got 68.

There were certainly a couple of stands there that i had to think about, and lost out too. But also some rather 'standard' ones too, but that's a nice layout for your average joe, i.e. me! Although i seem to remember it being a lot tougher the last time we all shot there.

And i must admit the time issue wasn't a problem for me, only a bit of a wait on a couple of stands. At my new local i spend 2 hours shooting 50 so maybe i was already primed for it. :good:

Nor me, I was enjoying the company of my squad.

I am sure PDLM's amusing punditry must have made the time fly by though Mung ?
