henry c
The Rolled turn over on the 7 looks like the shots gonna fall out! Wouldnt bother unless there really cheap, fire some and see!
MC
They are early Baikal cartridges, I have some in a box of 10 that are the same as that. It will say AZOT on the brass where the primer is. The number 7 one has been opened at some point, all the ones I have look like the 6. Zapp
Proper tackle those Baikal cartridges. I got 100 thrown in with my first shotgun, which was a double trigger Baikal O/U choked 3/4 and full. Horrifying things, but great fun. Floating Chamber
They are early Baikal cartridges, I have some in a box of 10 that are the same as that. It will say AZOT on the brass where the primer is. The number 7 one has been opened at some point, all the ones I have look like the 6. Confirmed 'AZOT' was the headstamp before 'Baikal'. 'Interesting shells' in the early 1960s, 5s 3d for 10. (that's about 26pence in new money.) The shot could be good and uniform in size, but sometimes, a hellish mixture from #9 to #4! Shot weight varied. I recorded 34.5 grams in a 32 gram shell. On firing, the report was LOUD with an orange flash sometimes over a metre long. They rattled my teeth when I was a 9 stone 15 year old. Imperfection
They look similiar to what my dad used to get given to him by various farmers years back and i think the farmers themselves were given or atleast were sold them incredibly cheap as an incentive to cull vermin.I remember them being a tad punchy, but i'd still use them despite their age.
