jko
No, In truth Annie was like a machine, as was Claybuster! I was demoralised after the first two stands (Where I was leading!!) as claybuster was giving Annie free coaching! And my confidence!,, And scores fell!! I was more than p****d off! As, it when I was tired out I wished I hadnt gone really! I finished up with a **** score
Anni
Yeah thanks K-claybuster for the little bits of info in the ear they saved me a few bad stands I noticed the stands I was **** on K was gassing to someone else I think the first comp a Did was this one last year (The police shoot). JonD
I shot the English Open Skeet at Doveridge today, the weather was bloody dire as it never stopped raining I shot 82ex100 which is my best reg'd score yet but steadily climbing. I met Johnny Walker and Mickey Dore who were very friendly, shame i wasn't able to watch them shoot. Hope you all had a good day at Hodnet, i'd have been there but the Open was booked before hand.. wore the charity shoot t shirt to the open though  Out to practice on high 2 and low 6 tomorrow grrr. Bigweed
Well I bit the built and did the English Skeet at Doveridge - wish i hadn't bothered - god it was windy. Started badly - dropped the first bird and the 5th on the first round ending with a 23. Put that down to "Event Anxiety" !!!!!!! Got steadily worse as it went on and finished 89/100 23, 21, 23, 22 - worst for a long time - Heyho Certainly a nice ground and saw that they were running registered ESP there today

Mr Potter
Down to earth with a bump today after all the excitement of Hodnet Went to A6 Gun Club (used to be known as Westhoughton GC) a well known trap ground near Bolton. They were holding a 100 bird registered Sportrap shoot, the Lancashire & Merseyside championship. Now I'm a Cheshire lad but you always expect grounds to try a bit harder when it's a county championship shoot. Well the A6 hadn't pulled all the stops out, there were only 2 x 25 bird layouts which you shot twice :o So in effect we shot a 50 bird sportrap twice!!! I along with every other entrant I spoke to wasn't happy but we only found out after we had booked on. So that plus the wind made for unhappy shooters and low scores, well I shot a low score and from what I saw there were a good number below par. On our first 50 birder I shot 2 x 16 = 32 x 50. Second half I improved slightly to shoot a 19 & 18 = 37 a combined total of 69. Just hope I shoot that much better in the future that this score will be discarded when the next averages are calculated Only good news was that I was home for 12:15 (the missus said thank god it wasn't a weekday - don't know what she meant though) so could watch, by flipping channels, both the Grand Prix and the England v Japan game, after an hour of that s**te I was ready to go back to Westhoughton. Kegworth tomorrow so I might see some of you there, I expect Anni will be there (with his stalker ) trying to exorcise his demons Mr Potter
jko
Yep I shot Doveridge today, wished I didnt, The wind was so bad that nearly every pair on each stand seemed like they was thrown from different traps! I managed to straight two stands, but!!! Because they were holding the English Open Skeet competition on the same day, maintenance on the Sporting course was sadly missing. Up heart attack hill there was 4 stands that broke down!! after waiting to shoot the first one we waited for 35 minutes to complete it, then the next stand had a crowd waiting ? then we went to the next two stands at the top of the hill? Jeezus!! both broke down as well! after waiting another 20 minutes or so I threw my dummy out the pram, and left. that was at 12.45pm I normally finish at Doveridge at 12.10pm. Only bright spot today was the news that young Nick Hendrick finished third in the English Open Skeet! Well done Nick.

I remember being squadded with him about two years ago at the West Mids Area All Round, he blitzted the 25 skeet then , 25 balls of smoke, impressive shooter.
