Floating Chamber
absolut is 100% proof KW 100 degrees proof is about 57% alcohol. The only 100% alcohol is industrial alcohol. During the war (WW1) whisky was watered down to save grain stocks. It became '70 degrees proof', about 40% ABV. Today, we use ABV which is 'Alcohol By Volume'. 'Proof' spirit was spirit strong enough to ignite a measure of gunpowder when mixed with it and a flame applied. Ask henry d. Paddy Galore!
Got a funny story about pure[ish] alcohol and a tramp from when i worked in a foundry, we used it to mix up the mould paint, set light and it would stop the castings getting scabs, just up the road was the local night shelter, and i had an idea. I'm not posting the rest of it on here tho..
