Frank
Hi Folks. As the title says, I have a Fiesta, 1997 reg, with no power steering. Have had the car for 2 years now and a lot if my mates cant believe why it has none. Did some of them get made without power steering? Thanks. :(
Frank
Ok, fair enough, prehaps i should ask somewhere else. Either that, or no one has a fiesta. :(
enniskillen
Hiya Frank,it depends on the model. What model is it?
Cranfield
Frank, most of us on here brag about our 4x4's, nobody is going to admit to having an 8 year old Ford Fiesta. Could something be broken ? :(
Frank
Hi Enniskillen, not sure what model it is, just that it was made in 1997 and its a 1.3, LX. Cranfield, i get your point, . I must be brave to owning up to having a 8 year old festa. It had its NCT, (MOT IN THE UK) not too far back and passed so it does not seem broken. Fisherman Mike
On this model and year the power steering was an option and was £375.00 I know this because my wife had one with power steering which we paid extra for. It was a brilliant car and we had no trouble at all with it in 5 years and 62,500 miles.
Frank
Thanks Fisherman Mike. :( It is reliable alright, never let me down, just got 70,000 on the clock and still going strong.
Cranfield
and still going strong. Thats the big arm muscles you are building up, having to lug it round corners. :(

SNAKEBITE
I swore I would never get a car with power steering as my old sierra (which I "boyed up") handled so well and had really good feed back through the wheel, something which power steering lacks. Anyway a couple of cars later I had a Rover 820 with 205/15's on it. That had power steering and boy did it need it. Since then I have just got used to it. It is hard to get a car now without it! Browning GTS
Come on a car the size of a Fiesta with P A S, does it really need it? Going back to the 80`s early 90`s it was only BIG cars that had it fitted ( we must be turning into wimps ).

Sargeant Bang
Lovely looking vehicles Mossy, but surely more of a lifestyle motor than a practical off-roader? If so, then good on you anyway! Clarkson slated them even for Green-laning on Top Gear but he loved the sound of 'em. Still I wouldn't say no to one. Know a guy that's got one actually he reckons it's good, but a bit wide for the lanes. We're all hoping the fuel prices drop for you! Sargeant Bang
I'm thinking of a mid 90's Patrol GR with the 4.2 diesel. Might look like a "traveller" when I'm in it but they have a reputation of being unburstable and the Aussie's swear by them for the off-road stuff. They also look quite mean in the 2-door format. Now every one will tell me they're 'orrible I expect but then that's what you get for baring your soul!
Axe
I still think the 'ole Landy is a cracking bit of kit. One of my landowners has just had a shortwheel base landy body fitted to a 1970 Range rover chasis. Its fitted with a 3.2 Diesel, chunky wheels, bucket seats and is painted British Racing Green. It looks damn awsome , goes awsome, but I reckon its a little too pretty to take on a shoot Its one mighty fine motor! That said, I still reckon our Gator to be the most fun , on a shoot. ernyha
Well I never cease to be ammazed, how can an innocent thread on a beat up Ford Fiesta still be going strong into it's second page? Whatever floats your boat I suppose.
