TomV
Went on saturday to use a voucher that I got for my birthday. Great place, so many different layouts, some very challenging! Got a few pairs which pleased me! Only downside is the fact it takes an hour and a half to get there from Leeds. Will be going again though
Nicky T
Coniston is a cracking ground - takes just over an hour from Manchester but well worth it
Chard
Yes, I've only been once, but thoroughly enjoyed it (and the fillet steak from the farm shop up the road)

Hatstand
It's a great ground Coniston, glad you enjoyed it TomV I think its the only Premier ground in the North now. I go every weekend, takes me an hour from Huddersfield but its worth it. The Hunt is running through it this Saturday so the shooting stops at eleven. There is so much variety between the stands and they are always changing the layouts. Some of the layouts are quite difficult but it's when you go to another ground that you've been to before that you see the improvement you've made. Its the only ground I've ever seen some guns arrive by helicopter!

ab1964
Another good shooting ground not too far from Coniston is Kelbrook Shooting School. Great layout! Thier website is: http://www.kelbrookshootingschool.co.uk/ From leeds, Kelbrook is about the same distance/travel time as to Coniston. Gordon R
Kelbrook used to spread across the small lake, up on to the moor, with the odd grouse butt type shooting position. It has been reduced to a small, unimaginative, congested shoot, where you can very easily shoot the clays paid for by your neighbour, on the next stand. A tragedy. BlaserF3
I went last Friday and the car park surface was covered in something like wet sand, I'm glad I took my wellies but I had to wash my car mats, not very impressed at all. We are going to try Coniston again this year, I used to get fed up with all the waiting for a stand to clear.
