massmurderer
My apology boys and girls for not saying which channel it was on as i was being dragged out the door by the misses to go shopping. I MISS GOING HUNTING & COURSING!. I HAVE AN IDEA !,you know how these drug dealers, molesters, antis, members of parliment are the scum of the earth we could go after them because it's not hunting is it,it would be classed as a service. Ferret Master
Hi, Just watched it... It was amazing! A fantastic documentary on a sport that I knew virtually nothing about but now fully understand and love!!! It was a brilliant programe which was not done by anti's rather the opposite in fact it was done by people that love the sport of hare coursing! It showed the massive conservation aspects it has on the overall hare population compaed to just wiping them out in large culls. A coursed hare nearly always escapes unless it is sickly or old. They do not get points for killing the hare but for how much they make it turn. No bbc anti ****! It didn't seem to like the shooting aspect of it though and mainly showed wounded shot hares. But I suppose with a dog you get a clean kill or a free hare. Best documentary for fieldsports in a long time. FM

henry d
I feel I have to get a running dog now. However going on Kate Hooey`s interview in the Sunday Times she says I wound snare and poison(legal point here-I DON`T...REPEAT...I DON`T POISON) just because I shoot. I am getting a bit p!55** off at those who hunt and relied on me and my wife going to London and Edinburgh on 2 occasions each to show our support. Another attack on me as a shooter and I shall withdraw my support for those who wanted my support when it suited them. :< :< :< :< :< :< :< Edited September 30, 2005 by henry d
billy
its a sport best seen live, but it as nice to see it on tv, mabe if more ppl had went and watched it it would have got more support, its like a drug, once you see it you cant stop going... .....its the purest and fairest form of hunting now gone the way of the dinosaur ..very sad... massmurderer
Ferret master. The first time i saw proper coursing was actually at the waterloo cup in1989 and i was hooked. It is a wonderful pursuit and i totally agree with yourselves about the production company. They could'nt have made a more honest film if they tried. The downside is that a very humane sport was banned as usual by idiots not worthy of fresh air. I am glad to hear that people who have never seen it before have enjoyed it. LONG LIVE FAR OUT PLACES AND "COUGH COUGH"COURSING!!!!!!!!!. MR.BLAIR COME AND STOP US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. p.s.don't do it if you can't accept the punishment. Frank
Havent seen it yet, i taped it, will watch it today. I use to have lurchers at one time, the thrill of the chase is unreplacable. I might get back into it again, as hare coursing is still leagal here. I would walk them up and when one got up, id wait, give the hare 50yds and let the dogs off. Edited October 1, 2005 by Frank
Whitebridges
I thought it was a very good programme. We will miss the Anglia Cup at West Acre. I thought Sir Mark Prescott was terrific, I still can't believe we as a country have have lost part of our heritaage and culture. He summed it up when he said he would rather win a Waterloo Cup than train the winner of the English Derby. I hope he wins the Cambridgeshire at Newmarket today with Pedrillo. I'm afraid the brown hare numbers will drop enormously around here as a lot more will be shot. The hare is actually a big pest and has only been tolerated in some areas because of coursing. Looks as though everything has been thought through by all the anti's as usual.
Gemini
As usual the reason for the ban had nothing to do with animal welfare, but more to do with the irrational fear/hatred that this government has of country sports. :< I was invited on a fox drive a couple of months ago and was told to shoot any hares I saw. Shot 2, and saw many others shot. Bloody shame, because it looks as though they will be wiped out if things go on the way they are. G.M. dodger
Wasn't it refreshing to see a documentary on field sports that didn't look as if it had been paid for by the antis.

Frank
I watched the taped documentry last night. Very good, but sad to see it all go. If we all dont becarefull, shooting will be the same. We have to stand up for our rights now, or end up on a documentry, about the last pheasent shoot of the year. If you think this will never happen to shooting, then talk to the coursing people, they thought exactly the same thing.
