agusta
AVG free.avg.com Although it depends on the type of virus.
Alpha Mule
Put the title of the message you got into google and stick 'virus' at the end of it. You should find a link to something like AVG / McAfee / Symantec where it is described and how to get rid of it.

activeviii
Microsoft AV. if anyone NEEDS to look after the system and their reputation then they do. its free and dosent slow system down like some others. once you have the virus lock away you need to get on the web and research it a little as some can hide, you think its gone but its just in your recycle bin waiting. a while a go i use to get a few viruses.lol. not now though.haha
MPT1
My daughter, 16yrs old kept on line for an hour after her trial version of Macafee expired. Her Mmonth old Dell is riddled with forty two worms and trojans. Dell have said that they will clear it over the phone then on the internet. Her history shows facebook and bebo etc all things we have warned her against. If Dell fail I'll try your suggestions, thanks a lot.

al4x
pm me your e-mail address and I'll send over malware bytes as that will remove the problem then you should be able to try to google adaware. If you've a different browser check that first as it may work. I had issues with a virus similar a while back and google chrome was the only browser that it didn't stop working. this is the link if it will let you download it http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti...4-10804572.html Edited February 16, 2010 by al4x
flash
malware is scanning at the moment. will this get rid of the virus, or will i then need to download a proper antivirus to remove it permenantly?
al4x
it should get rid of it but I'd get AVG downloaded and ready to install as soon as malware finishes and then update it and run the virus check
