Guest Callum.
I would like to sometime not neccessarily now buy a new Air Rifle I doubt i'd spend more than 250-300 pounds and it would have to be able to easily kill rabbits/pigeons/crows etc; out to about 30-40 yards. Very accurate and probably 11 - 12 Ft/Lb. If you know of any new guns or the prices of second hand ones please post here. Thankyou! Callum. tomhw100
I have doneMore interested in types of guns that will be good etc; hi callum what sort of airgun are you after? for that price you should be able to get a good spring gun i used to have a weirauch hw97k (underlever) and that was an excellent gun for hunting/plinking now i have a weirauch hw100k which is a pcp but they generally are more expensive and also yu have to by a stirrup pump or diving bottle to so it can become very expensive. Is the price you've given including a scope aswell? the weirauch hw97 is about £350 new or the hw77 (the earlyier model) is about £20 cheaper i think. Theres also the airarms tx200 which is another excellent undelever wich retails at about £320. These are excellent entry level underlever airguns which are relativley cheap if you want a break barrel you could try the weirauch hw95 which is abut £284 or hw80 which is about £390 obviously you would ahve to by a scope seperate. There is also alot cheaper rifles you could get like edgar brothers or smk but obviously as the price lowers so does the quality. These are justa small selection of good guns to get you on your way hope this helps Tom
Guest Callum.
Thanks Tom My preference would be a gas or pneumatic becuase apparently it's better for Bi-Pods and they are quieter. A scope or not doesn't really matter. You did help alot. I saw a Hw 57 which seems allright.
blackthorn
you might pick up a second hand s300-400 or falcon kit for that price only problem is you still need to charge it that means a pump or bottle or take it to the shop for a fill Edited February 15, 2010 by blackthorn

christy
I would opt for a HW95 on your budget. Damn good rifle. In the future you could tune it with a V-Mach kit for less than a ton and have a really special gun. It will be well capable of bunny bashing without any tuning. However, the 95 gives you options for the future. As does the HW80-the choice of many. Had one, great gun, little to heavy for my liking but that is only me. tomhw100
you might pick up a second hand s300-400 or falcon kit for that price only problem is you still need to charge it that means a pump or bottle or take it to the shop for a fill oh right yea pcps are a lot quiter and have virtualy no recoil so they are alot more accurate and easyier to shoot!. also if you had a bipod fixed it would hinder cocking a bit if you had a spring gun too. You could probably get a secondhand airarms s200 for a round that price which is a single shot, then once yuve have a bit more money avaliable you can get a 10 shot moderation for it which i dont think is to expensive. also you could probably get a cheap second hand falcon single shot pcp for that price to!. I would definaley invest in a stirup pump when you have more money tho as this saves so much hassle going down the gunshop or round your mates all the time! bruno22rf
If you have time/patience on your side then keep an eye out for a used Air Arms S200-if you then keep a sharp eye on the various Airgun forums you can usually pick up a tank/whip and gauge for about £75-sometimes less if you also watch on the "bay".Dont be put off by the small size or weird looks of this gun-its deadly accurate and easy to tweak till spot on the legal limit. If you buy wisely you probably wont lose any money on it-free shooting-cant be bad!. aaron airgunner
good pcp's: air arms s400/s200 flacon rifles bsa ultra you can pick these up new for around £350. pcp's are much easier to shoot than spring rifles. also, becasue they're recoilles, you can shoot them from any position you like. so for example: if you zero a spring rifle from sitting position and then rest it on a fence and shoot it will be off zero. you can shoot a pcp from any position and it will still hit exactly the same as you zeroed it. Guest Callum.
Thanks! I have had cheap probably about 6 ft / lb Smk springer and pcp and i've got to say i do prefer the PCP !
mickmep
S200 if you are on a budget. lovely little rifle. my mate had one when we used to shoot field target, a very capable gun and second hand can be had at a good price. you can also upgrade later to multishot, although manual, but works well if you are lamping not having to fumble to find / load pellets. Guest Callum.
Finding cheap ones on THL Air arms s200 with loads of stuff 260 hw97k
tango
get a good springer like a hw95, hw77, hw97k or tx200. bear in mind a springer is a harder gun to master than a pcp. hone your skills with a springer and you will be a better shot in the future because of it..all of the above can be picked up for 250ish second hand..also try a local gun club for guns as usually the boards change all the time and real bargains can be picked up here ben
terrier
I own a good 97k .177 with a Venom fac tune and Maccari full power seal. Its queit, accurate and shoots around 17ftlbs with Jsb exact. A friend of me owns the same but with a venom FT kit inside (11.8ftlbs with Exacts) he's a fervent rabbit shooter at his place, almost never misses, becouse of the behaviour of the gun (Very smooth) he's able to shoot rabbits clean dead at 50.. 60 yards. Numbers around 50 a week. Top class gun with a tune
