Paul223
Good to see the protest did not make national news as for the tb debate. i`m still thinking on that one. Whats to think about??
MPT1
Good to see the protest did not make national news Whats to think about?? I am sorry that alternatives to the cull are not fully exploited. After all badgers are indigenous to the country. It would seem that the only reason is that it is more expensive to treat the cattle. That is what it says in the BBC report.

Welsh Andy
If we carry on exterminating species off GB there will be nothing left but chavs and tarmac. Humans carry a lot more diseases than badgers, but noones cares about that. I personally think badgers are one of natures beautys. Soon there will be nothing left to enjoy but a few birds, and thats until they find an economic reason to cull them. Remember that bears were wiped out in the 10th century, Wolves in the 14th century. Beaver were also wiped out but then reintroduced. Britain is becoming a boring country with emphasis on marinas and shopping centers etc. Very few countries in the world are as arrogant about its wildlife as GB. MPT1
On Countryflie they said that they immunise then check again after 60 days. I understand that it can be hereditary in cattle. TB was eradicated in this country for humans but is now back. This is supposedly because of many immigrants not being immunised and the habit of spitting in the street by people nowadays. I'm sure that no-one would suggest a cull though.
Ferret Master
Nobody is talking about exterminating badgers, but their numbers are out of control. It must be beyond soul-destroying to have strict bio-security measures in place, regular TB testing, culling of infected cattle and to be unable to do anything about the source which is a dirty great pig set in the middle of the farm.
