Cranfield
I would suggest you read the literature, or visit their website, it isn't too complicated.

You have joined the best. Their insurance is the best. The help-desk is the best. Their forward thinking, lobbying, media strategy is excellent. They are a great organisation. If you phone their help desk and ask real nice you can even get a bit of driven grouse for nothing as well. Just a small day mind, 250 brace or so. Glenshooter
http://www.basc.org.uk/en/go-shooting/ What the OP might be thinking of is the Go Shooting facility on the BASC website?
Brad93
Basically, you get your insurance cover, that covers you for all BASC Recognised Activities, they will also provide legal support if you get into trouble with the police, and BASC thinks the police are in the wrong, they can provide advice. It can all be found on their webby. Oh and you also get BASC's magazine "Shooting & Conservation" every three months or so
