SSS
If any pellets leave your garden you will be in trouble. Make a safe backstop, and be sensible and you should be fine
Kent Militia
I fire my air rifle in the garden, have a high wall and lock the gate when I fire in case anyone wonders in, not to mention I actually have a metal special target and I only fire at that. Vince Green
Its perfectly legal to shoot an air rifle in your back garden. Just make sure you don't annoy the neighbours. The best pellet catcher is actually a cardboard box full of newspaper because it doesn't clang like the metal ones. Popgun
I use a steel plate as a back stop and the phone book in front of that then pin the target to the phone book.

Billy.
Yes, but you need to be mindful of the 50feet rule and keep all fired pellets within the boundary of your garden! I seriously think you'll struggle to alarm a member of the public with an air rifle if you're in the garden.
libs
I do it all the time, and often hear others 'plinking' on sunny afternoons! Just keep in mind that pellets will bounce off wood with far more energy than stone or steel. Use a yellow pages or argos book as a pellet catcher. MM
i use my collection of dwarfs. i make them stand in a line, buttocks bared, and pin the targets to them  I dont really. I use a large piece of plywood as a general stop, followed by a phone book, with the target stapled to that. I also have a metal catcher with pop up ducks on it. As libs said, stone or metal disipates the energy from a pellet, wood doesnt always.Bionicle and i were shooting targets with hw 45 air pistols in my garden one day, ( at 100 feet) one of the targets was in front of a log, the pellet went through the can and richoched back and hit bionicle smack bang between the eyes, he had a large lump come up!!! looked like a star of india lol.......and thats with 6ft/lbs!!!
