TPE set your magnet up in your garden and time how long the battery lasts , if your not happy with the life of the battery get down to the local scrap yard and get a good second hand car battery , also helps if you have a trolly to put all your gear on ,

I've used ex-military camo' netting for years but recently bought a Stealth Net after reading several recommendations from happy users. Got to say that it is as good as people say. Much lighter and more compact than the standard netting and far easier to see through. As for poles, I use plastic poles used for electric horse fences. Cheap, light and versatile.

It can be as cheap as you want it. The first thing is to buy the camo netting/screen, about £20. You can cut your 5 poles from hazel. Bind or attach it together with green gardeners string. I have mine rolled up ready to use and is in place in an instant. Its light to carry also. Theres nothing much to it, maybe add some natural foliage for a touch. The hard part is finding a comfortable seat that does not turn your bum knumb.

i picked up some 5' hide poles from b & q. got 4 for around a tenner! they were in the garden section. green vine poles, they have meteal running up the middle.! i just cut a v into the top with my hacksaw. i've had them for a year and i snapped one last week! good for starting! but i'm saving for the proper jobies from the gunsmiths. need to be a bit more versatile! to raise or lower my net when i need to.

If you Google 'horse electric fence poles' and look at the ones on offer you will see that they do them up to 4' 6" in black, green and white at about £25 for ten, delivered.

I know this is a cheap option....But ive used 8ft garden canes in the post...There about 20p each from where i work...I take some to where i shoot and just leave them there in the hedge....Push the thick end as far in to ground as poss and cut to size....I split the top of the cane then so i can attach the net...There not good in strong wind, but there cheap and there always where i want them...Or there or there abouts... :good:??? I must have about 8 or 10 sets of canes in various hedges around here....

I bought a set of 4 poles with kick plates and carry bag about £40, best thing i ever did, I use a ex army kitbag with two back straps, bag about 18 inchs round not the small one, I put a bucket with lid inside to sit on, add decoys, neck sticks inside bucket, add poles two ex army camo nets as well away you go :good:
