Meet "Poppy"!

Well guys, it's been a while since we visited Manchester Dogs Home so we decided to take a run out there Yesterday Afternoon. We used to regularly "Foster" dogs for them to give the dogs a break and save them from becoming too "institutionalised", and of course to assess them in order to help them find the most suitable home for each individual dog.

We had a look araound and came across this "little lady" who was looking a bit sorry for herself and is on medication for Kennel Cough! She had such (pleading eyes" that we could not resist and agreed to foster her for a while. She is about 7 years old and a complete mongerl, however you could be forgiven for thinking she was a Border terrier cross. She is quiet, fairly obedient and very clean in the house, and she simply adores my wife and all of the attention she is getting.

The kennels know nothing of her history, not even her name so we are calling her "Poppy" (The wife's choice of name, not mine)

Once she is a little more settled and her Kennel Cough is cleared I will take her out in the field to see how she reacts to livestock.

Anyway, without wasting any more time meet POPPY!

How do you ever manage to give them back ??

well done

doc

It can be extremely difficult at times as we can get very attached to some of them. What helps is the thought that our assessment and report will help them to find the most suitable home and that there will always be more that need and appreciate our help! Up till now we have helped out well over 2 dozen dogs over the last 3 years.

Are you allowed to say that, what with the new EU rules

On a serious note, well done that man. If only there were more people about like you
