Barnsley-Matty
Had a look around a mates permission on friday with him and saw a few pigeons lifting out of the wheat, we decided to have a few hours on sunday. We got there about 2 o'clock and there must have been 200 pigeons get out of 3 big trees and about another 50 get out of the wheat. While setting up the hide and rotary pigeons were already trying to get back into feed .We got settled in and before long we were getting pigeons coming in nice and steady, we wrapped up about 8 o'clock having shot 42 and picking up 36 all in all a very enjoyable day. Teal
Well done on picking so many, but as you say finding them can cause a considerable amount of damage. If there are patches of laid wheat then try and drop the birds where they can be easily found and picking them causes less damage.
UKPoacher
Don't think we will make another trip for a while seem to do more harm than good to the crop think we will wait until it is cut Matty, look for the areas they have flattened and set up there. You'll cause no more damage than has already been done and you are guaranteed to be in the right area.
Barnsley-Matty
Thanks everyone for all the great comments and thanks "UKPoacher" for the advice wish i could set up on the flat patches but there right next to the footpath **** law
TJ91
Thanks everyone for all the great comments and thanks "UKPoacher" for the advice wish i could set up on the flat patches but there right next to the footpath **** law why does footpath matter...? law says 50yards from centre of public highway highway is where the public are allowed to legally take vehicles....public footpath isnt a public highway if the footpath isnt too busy and you dont shoot across/along it you shouldnt have a problem, just dont shoot when people are close by and dont leave pigeons laid in the path
