marco you missed another one
Hi, Fully agree on the suppliers advert shouldn't be allow if they haven't payed, but at the same time I log on to this forum to obtain usefull information for my sport. As a reminder, this is PIGEON SHOOTING CHAT were people should be able to chat freely and exchange information. Now I've this feeling that this forum is dictated by sponsors. I shouldn't PM knowone to obtain information I'm no secret agent. I'm not trying to stir the **** at all but its pretty sad to see this happening. paul hart
When "Deako's Company" were on the top of the page, there wasnt this much fuss made about poeple selling stuff then me included, now we may get banned for poeple asking us for equipment. Web link edited out by Cranfield.
Cranfield
Marco, the Sponsors don't dictate what happens on this Site. If you carefully considered the situation and perhaps put yourself in their place, you might well see the common sense of it all. Paul, I can assure you that this situation existed when Deako's Company were Site Sponsors. Some things never change.
Teal
In the past Deako asked for moderator powers to edit/delete posts mentioning competitors when his website advertised on pigeonwatch. The rules are the same as they have always been, since advertisers pay to sponsor pigeonwatch why should other commercial companies get their advertising for free on here. Cranfields understanding that: it's OK to talk about equipment, ideas, performance, quality etc., but its not OK to post telephone numbers and weblinks of the competitors of our Sponsors, who pay for their advertising (which helps meet the Site's expenses), is exactly right. I've gotta have my pennies worth here. As a lifelong businessman I have to agree and to be frank (or george) I'd be surprised if Deako would/could argue any differently that a sponsor paying for the advertising on here should expect to be the one to benefit. I read the t & cs before joining this site and it's quite clear what is and isn't acceptable. It's the old story...if you don't like it don't join. I have no particular allegiance to any of the companys the various lads on here run, many of them have had my custom over the years (knowingly or otherwise) but in todays dog eat dog world (blame the Internet partly for that) there's so much competition that it's b***** hard to turn an honest buck. If a company are prepared to pay for advertising then (IMO) quite rightly they don't want nor should they expect freeloaders jumping on the bandwagon. By all means discuss the merits of this and that and who's got the best gear and who's offering the best deals but draw the line at blatant advertising UNLESS you wanna pay for it! On another note; it does amaze me why there's so much animosity between company people on here when we all have a common interest in the subject (pigeon shooting in case anyone thought I was talking about something else). If you have grievances between each other air them in private between yourselves, not on a public forum and not in our little club. To be clear; I'm not talking about the general banter that goes on, that's a good crack to see, but about the 'daggers at dawn' type stuff. Life's too short to live it in anger (all the time). OK soapbox over.

My first impressions of dealing with the site sponsor are'nt positive and I placed a post indicating my reasons why . I rang the number on here one friday at 8.50 pm .....the call was diverted and a lady answered ..............She was not impressed and pointed out to me the time of day My post indicated that if UK shootwarehouse want their number on this forum which they pay for AND want advertised then can they put their hours of business as well ........This is the day of 24 hr shopping afterall, The above was deleted on the grounds it was in the Wrong section........ Cranfield
You certainly PM'ed me and asked why your post was deleted and I advised you that the thread you had posted on was a "Sticky" Announcement and not a place to make posts. All the other posts on there were deleted as well. I did miss one, but deleted it later. Your complaint was that the Company did not wish to discuss to discuss your order at 8.50pm, when I assume your call was diverted from the "Office", to the "House" number. I can't think of one Shooting Equipment Company that is staffed at that time of the day/evening. I suppose we all have different ideas about what is reasonable. Deako
Gents, I apologise if some of you thought I had ignored your questions, I hadn't, its just that all my posts had been deleted. I now have to be VERY careful what I say on here; my business partner, MARK 1, has already been banned until 2008, and as one of the earliest members of PW, I don't really want to suffer the same fate. I really don't give a flying **** who mentions who's products and this can be seen by my attitude to competitors postings on other sites we sponsor. People will always make their own decisions about where and what to buy. To reiterate, please don't ask me questions about any of our new products in an open forum as it will only cause me problems, it needs to be a phone call, PM or email. Thanks for your understanding lads, Deako (a man afraid)

Ive............SITE SUPPORTER Ive, to be honest I'm not surprised you got a frosty reception from my mum on the phone. We've been unbeleivably busy and I'm not sure when or where or who told you that you would be contacted about your order but we are only human and struggling to cope. So it hardly suprising that she snapped at you. After a hard days work I would imagine you might feel slightly miffed if some random person gave you a bell asking about something business related at silly o'clock in the evening. Normal business hours are 9-5 here.....assuming that we are like Tesco's open 24/7 is a pretty selfish attitude no??!! Anyway I hope you understand where I am coming from. Our lives are very very busy and we all need time to chill so next time give us a bell during orifice hours and we'll do our very best to sort you out. Cheers Edited January 14, 2006 by Will Beasley

Cheers Will To be honest at that time of night i expected a pre recorded message of your hours of business and as it was a friday night i needed to know if you trade on Saturday .............You've only recently set up a web page where you can now get discount instead of ringing up . Imagine my surprise when the call was diverted .....How was I to know this would happen........I merely posted a thread highlighting this to save other members doing the same thing and it was deleted....It's the 24hr shopping world i'm afraid mate and other companies leave pre recorded messages if there business is closed .........I'm not surprised your mum was annoyed but after all your number is on a open forum looked at by the World not just UK and Europe . As for the Tesco senario ..............Well ..........Like I said I did'nt expect to do business .........As for being selfish ,well thats a bizzare one ,afterall i'm TRYING to spend my hard earn,t money with your companie  I'm quite happy to debate this further ,,but it's probably best if this matter is Brought to a close I note your hours of Business Ive
