If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay for it??? I want an off roader for shooting only but don't wanna pay land rover/ range rover prices.

Suzuki jimnys are not that cheap, unless you buy a relatively old one. Mine was just shy of £4k in total but I part ex-d my old one.

Those vehicles on this thread are definitely not shooting trucks, they are far too clean! :good::hmm::lol:

Nice motors though, I'm envious! :good:

Make no mistake Franchieboy, our trucks are used properly!.......and yes - that is bonnet deep snow on the discovery!....stuck there for 4 hours - took an american type snow plough and a JCB 3 hours just to get to us to get us out!

I take back what I said then Gixed mate! I still say that they aren't dirty enough to be called "Shooting Trucks" yet though, mind you a couple of soaking wet and muddy gun dogs will soon sort that out I am sure!

I'm sure we'll have the soaking wet dog smell in the new one in no time! all the others have had it! lol! :hmm:

Great shooting vehicle the Jimny - mine goes anywhere, also saves knocking my other car about.

Easy to service yourself - but I find it thirsty on fuel though!

They are quite thirsty for a 1.3 and we have found that some parts can be pricey or hard to find (a sump is £100, Brake shoes and pads around £54, and they can be quite expensive to insure, but they're offroad ability is amazing and they do exactly what it says on the tin! and i have to say our's is not a rot box and it doesn't look like it's been treated with kidd gloves either! the vacuum pipes for the hubs seem a bit exposed (on the front panhard rods) so it's worth doing a bit of DIY protection there

Regards,

Gixer

If you want something cheap to buy with landrover capabilities, then go for a vauxhall frontera a very usefull truck for shooting what ever the conditions, and the whole top of the roof comes off so you could have two people standing in the back while lamping :hmm: ,had mine a year now took it all over the fields and lanes and its never been stuck (road tyres,225x75x16),been close and sideways more than once though :good:

I'll second that! I've just put mine through another MOT with very little trouble at all and it has NEVER once in the 4.5 years that I have owned it let me down, nor has it ever got stuck or bogged down. The only thing that I would fault with the Frontera Sport 2.0 is the fact that is is a short wheel base which has very little luggage room, but then again you just can't have everthing can you?
