ok so went into the NFU with a couple of cars in mind like the suzuki jimny, vitara, pajero junior and sportrak.

First quote he came back with was £3200 to insure the jimny 3rd party fire and theft!!!

i knew the vitara wasnt going to be any better £4500!

We were just about to give up hope when i siad type in an old landy commercial, he did and it came to £1200! and then we typed in a Disco Tdi the 2.5 ones and it was the same £1200, then a Izuzu trooper which was £1300!

all of the commercial 4x4's came out at around this price, thing is i can only have 2 seats and no rear windows. So PW's which is the best commercial 4x4, i am inclined to a disco but will i be walking most of the time because its broken down? :look:

i have around £2000-2500 to spend, £3000 at a push :look:

discovery commercials fetch silly money for what they are seem to be more than a standard discovery, i am on my third trooper and love it, if you can find a lowish mileage 3.1 i would go for that. i give mine alot of work towing 2 or 3 tons daily of road.

have a look at the itocuk forum and they'll fill yuo full of knowledge

Are you sure about 2 seats and no rear glass as many vans have 3 seats in the front (as do landrovers) and rear door glass...... none of them are particularly cheap to run....HiLux or other single cab pickup.

Mine has two seats no rear glass apart from in the back door

You can fit rear seats and windows to commercials after so many years not sure if its 3 or 5 without having to pay VAT, you just buy the kit when you can afford it. Do try admirmal or their sister compamy Bell they where cheapest on my 4.6 RR
