jonesbach
Just wandering how everyone goes about their shooting plans (rabbit or fox) when it comes to taking moon into consideration? ie Does a full moon make it a better night for you, or do you find a new moon a better time to get out and about? personally prefer with no moon but wanted to hear the opinions of others.
Dave-G
Rabbitting on a golf course or grazing land: I find the fullest and newest moons less productive, where bunny stays closer to - or in the hedges, unless they have other rough/high growth to conceal them - in farmers crops etc. I'm guessing fullest moon they know they can be seen easier - and newest moon they can't see very far. pegasus bridge
a cloudy windy night in the first half of a new moon has worked out best for me.
DaveK
Unfortunately the moon isn't the only cycle that affects me. Women may medically have PMT once a month but it's us men that suffer from it. Oh, and foxing with no moon is best for me. Redgum
As dark and wild as the rifle will shoot in, would go out on moonlit nights if we had any virgins left round here though.
6br
had them in all conditions full moon frosty still nights, rain, snow, the only nights I try to avoid are very windy nights as this makes the foxes very jumpy and twitchy, things blowing about in the the wind frightens then and they don't hang about, the worst nights for the lamper are fogy nights a total waist of time. Saved me saying it! (but whilst I do end up in the rain sometimes I do my best to avoid it!)
