Cranfield
Has anyone had any experience of these jackets, they seem to be a good price for the specification ?

humperdingle
Reassuring - They're hardly expensive, though... I was considering a Realtree version myself. Are they protected well against a cold wind?

killer_pigeon
had mine a couple of years and its great, paid only 25 off the bay so was a real bargain does everything you need and at that price i dont car if it gets snaggedon the hawthorns too much
Imperfection
Had mine for couple years now and still going strong. Its warm, waterproof and windproof.Only bad bit are the silly cartridge flappy things inside the pockets and the hood which makes you look like an extra from 'Little house on the prarie'! Chris Bb
Good bit of kit for the price. First thing to do is take a pair of scissors to the "in pocket cartridge holders". Have yet to try the hood but if it keeps the rain from running down my neck I'll not really care how I look.
Imperfection
Have yet to try the hood but if it keeps the rain from running down my neck I'll not really care how I look. You will cos the wildlife will laugh at you. The hood by the way is not attached to the coat and looks like an old fashioed bonet! djgeoff
Has anyone had any experience of these jackets, they seem to be a good price for the specification ? yes they are dam warm, and they do make you sweat, unless you get the correct under garment read on.... did you know you are supposed to wear an under shirt with this item from the armour range of j pyke? before you all say na or what ever. i complained to thacreed, chaps name was Glen.( some sort of gaffer) i sent him pictures of the sweat staines to the lining of my new jacket after one use. it was Glen that told me this information, my reply was well it states all weather and nothing about another garment is required. ( by the way this garmet is about £30) and you dont wear anything under the armour shirt or it will not work Anyway due to the damage to my new jacket he sent me a new one and one of the armour shirts on the understanding i would get back to him on its performance, which i have been doing) the out come is yes it works great with the shirt on as well ..... no sweat and too be honest i have stood in just the armour shirt when others around me have had jackets on.... they are very good. the only down side to this garment is that it snags and pulls very easily which dont help when ur standing in a thorny hedge row. and yes cut the dam cart holders out the pockets of the jacket dam pain in the ... u know what regards geoff Edited November 2, 2010 by djgeoff

Cranfield
Mmmmmm, I do have to walk a lot in it and I don't particularly want to wear a camo wicking shirt, perhaps I will look elsewhere. You really have to search their website to find the "Armour" range, its a bit naughty that they don't mention it on the Ad for the jacket. However, their customer service sounds quite impressive. JR1960
Not had mine long but a great jacket for the price. I wouldn't have said they were too warm though, i've been wearing a fleece under mine even when working/walking several miles. But generally very good value for money i would say. Pocket cartridge holders? what the hell were they thinking? I seem to end up with my hands in the pockets wiggling my fingers into the cartridge elastic sections. They've got to go! If anyone doubts what i have stated i can supply email address via pm, but i dont what to put in on general forum it would be nice see what other jacket users hve found a use if any for finger holders in the pockets lol

burntout
I got the Jack Pyke Hunter 3 in 1 last year for a bargain price of £75 from PLG Farm Supplies in Taverham, Norwich. These are meant to be £125 or so (again - it's the 3 in 1 jobby so you can remove the fleece) and it's great quality for the price and proper warm, windproof and waterproof. Can't go wrong IMO. vole
I have had the Jack Pyke Hunter jacket for 2 years now . I prefer it to my heavy duty Goretex one as it does not get as sweltering hot on big hikes . Nothing has worn out on it and it lives in a dirty car boot . Only complaint is that I could have done with more pockets but you can use the zip down flap section as one . Recommended
