Rob G
I use a plastic gardening cane with a 60amp electrical connecter and 2 lengths of wire coat hanger.Cut the connecter into a block of 3 terminals, the middle terminal slide down the cane approx 8 inches. Then put the lengths of wire in the other two.Bend the last two inches of wire at 90'.Then slide the pigeon down the cane and bend the wire so they hold the wings open. Cantitit
Great ideas, off to the garden center on Saturday for some plastic canes as I cant bring myself to stick my fishing rods in a field although fishing rods may bring better results. Thanks for the advise.

Shotgun-Sean
Good god you lot are tight or am i lazy? whatever a good bouncer will cost you about £25 and its light and a simple piece of kit to carry along with your hide poles. hide poles now there is a different matter i used to have 4 road pins these are the steel bars that you see on building sites for those that dont know they are normally holding up some type of orange temporary fence but these got heavy so bought a proper set of 3 stage poles. cheers sean

Rob G
The bouncers cost approx £2.00 each to make,as for hide poles i use adjustable washing poles from argos,it's not a matter of being tight,i think it is more rewarding if you make something yourself and it works :( I made my own net aswell
Dunkield
You can get fibreglass or even carbon tubing from model shops and from anywhere that sells kite making kits. They are not as expensive as they used to be - like just about everything in our lives it is (you guessed it!) all made in the Far East these days :(
Down South
Cut some thin hazel sticks with a good fork end. Wrap some thin wire around the end of each fork so you can twist it around the winggs to hold them in place and then push the end into the ground at an angle that shows the bird to best effect. If you lose or break one so what, and no unnatural colour or shine to worry about.
MC
You can buy "Piano wire" from any good model shop. This is available in different gauges and is very cheap. it is basically spring steel rod and it can be bent and soldered to make the supports for the bird/decoy Cheers MC
RAMMER BURT
or you can ask you farmer friend for some field markers ie a fiberglass flexi stick in 6mm or 10 mm die by 1mtr long these are used when spraying a field to mark were they have been just drill a hole about 150mm from the end and get some brazing wire and two small crocadile clips to hold the wings and you have a floating pigeon and it works a treat
