shame u cant make it, i emailed chris, one of the owners, he said the 12 yr ols is def welcome, and i told him there would be 8-12 of us, he said we could have a discount, on the shoot and ammo! Cant remember the discount on the shoot, i think about 4 quid off. And 4.25 instead of 4.50 a box of shells. Very good of him i thought! He did say as there were more than 6, we should split into two groups so as not to take too much time at each stand. Next week we should get a count going of whos turning up, i'll start new thread, probably titled, discounted clay shoot at martin gorse, see if we can get a few more interested! Looking forward to meeting you all, pete

Cool, well heres the email from one of the shoot organisers,

Hi Pete ,

Thanks for your enquiry . Would be most pleased to see you all on the 30 th Jan . Yes the 12 year old is most welcome as long as he is supervised by one of yourselves . We have a 410 or 20 bore gun if he needs something a bit smaller than a twelve bore . As you are all comming down as a group i will give you a discount as follows ;-

50 bird option normal price £ 16 - your price £ 14 each

100 " " " " £ 24 - your price £ 20 each

Please note cartridges must be fibre or felt and max shot size no 6. If you require cartridges they can be supplied at a one off discount again because of your group size , at £ 4.25 per 25 as opposed to normal price of £ 4.50 . As you are twelve in number you will need to split up into two groups of six so you get round quicker . Hope to see you

He didnt mentiuon a 28 gram max, but i'll take your word for it. And at 4.25 a box, its not exactly a hardship.

Shall we get a count going?

it might be worth asking chris by phone, i first started going to Gorsewood about 4 years ago ish and was always told 28 gramme max as most of the stands there shoot out over a section of field towards the local farmers crops and just past that a public road which is quite weird, 28 gramme number 6`s made the shot fall about right, i think anymore power and the farmers is going to find several tons of lead at harvest time. If they now let people use pigeon carts like 30`s or 32`s down to a 6 then that would be a bonus for alot but worth checking out, would be embarassing to be caught out.

Not long to go now then :) looks like Kevlar has got himself a good excuse for bad shooting if he manages to make it!

i`ll be there, i shoot bare armed on clays as i find jackets etc restricting, all i wear is a clay vest and a t-shirt with a windstopper top under if it`s chilly. Luckily it`s my left arm so not so bad, however i can`t use my pump now so it`s semi or O/U.
