kitswood
Hi all first of all just wanted to say how helpful i have found all the help/info/and tips on p/w. I have spent a lot of time setting up and becoming familiar with my Webley Raider 10 .22 using marksman pointed pellets (free when i bought the gun) I am now down to my last few. I got my hands on a chronograph and they were putting out 9.2 - 9.8 ft/lb at 150bar didn't think this was too bad till i put my brothers bisley's 14.5g through her and they put out 10.2 - 10.6 ft/lb. my usage has been mainly target but I intend to move on to live quarry, i have been around my permission a few time mainly getting to know the land and quarry not seen much suspecting its the time of year. anyway was wondering what pellets would be more suited to my needs. Dekers
It's not all about power with pellets, but this can of course help. You need consistent power and consistency of delivery, (accuracy), and then terminal effect! Barrels like or dislike different pellets for different reasons, even two rifles off the production line next to each other may favour different pellets. It's very hard, and in many cases the answer is simply try a few. I suggest Domed for "Hunting", try JSB/AA Fields/Bisley/etc, and watch out for size, some are 5.50, 5.51 and 5.52, it really can make a big difference! pabs
X3 I have a .177 single which I fill to 2000psi. Gives me 40 shots with an ES of 7! Yeah I know, I can fill way higher and get a gazillion shots, put me nah like a power curve. Shooting at 50 yrds needs a REALLY tight shot string if you want the same POI (and absolutely zero wind, not even a breath!) Oh yeah, I use AA Fields 8.4gr 4.52 for 10.35ftlb Once I get round to stripping it down and doing a service, re-seal and hammer adjustment I hope to be able to fill higher, get more shots with the same ES. lineshooter
As the above, .22 has a really loopy trajectory unlike a .177 that shoots flatter, I have a Webley Tomahawk that only likes Webley Lazerdome pellets, I only shoot .177 otherwise I would have sent you some to try. As Dekkers said trying to get the right pellet is not easy, I have a Bsa Ultra that likes Bisley Magnums but my Bsa Scorpion like Falcon Accuracy pellets. You`ve done the right thing by getting a chrono, see if you can get some mates to give you a selection of pellets to try, I spent hours with mine before finding what worked for my gun, also have a look on the Webley owners club site to see what others are using. hoTshoT-16
so far in my BSA R-10 likes the AA fields at 16gr and bisley pest controls at 18gr for accuracy and knock down power
jacksdad
You can buy sample packs of pellets, plenty on fleabay! I've just bought 100 Thunderbolt .22 13 grain to try, and can confirm they are very fast and accurate in my AA S300. As stated, its just a matter of trying different pellets: my Air Arms doesn't like Air Airms pellets  I use H&N FTT 14.66 grain, give spot on grouping at 30 mtrs Edited January 2, 2011 by jacksdad
vampire
Try different ones til you find ones you like,my air arms s410 .177 liked rws superfields which were accurate and at a good range still had plenty impact,i wouldnt bother with pointed pellets they do not have very good aerodynamics, stick with domed AA/RWS and you wont go far wrong and when you find one the gun likes stick with it Oh and just to add, once you find its sweet spot there is no point filling over this pressure, you will just be wasting air Edited January 2, 2011 by vampire
UKPoacher
I haven't had an airgun yet that didn't shoot most accurately with JSB Exact or AA Field pellets, both made by JSB.

JSB and AA fields are by far the best in my gun
itchy trigger
I have a .22 AA 400 classic, I find superdomes the best pellet over all for my gun, accurate, consistant with good kills, get flyers with FTT's along with poor grouping, best advice is obtain a few of the various brands get to a range/club and find which pellets your gun likes best supersport
