gixer1
Anyone got an opinion on these? I have a CZ 22 but would like a small light 22 for lamping in a truck (a very small suzuki jimny) and one for the possibility of a NV set up, what are your opinions on the underlevers? can they be used accurately with the iron sights out to 40-50 yards for bunny zapping? not looking for a surgical tool just a wabbit bosher... Also, what are the different magazine capacities on them? i've heard 15 shot, 18 shot... Anyone who has one for sale please let me know! Regards, Gixer
al4x
don't bother you won't bosh many rabbits with one, if I was going for a bunny basher it would be a 10/22 assuming you are dead against a bolt action. A local keeper had one that was cut down well and a few bits modded and for a .22 it was a nice small and light truck gun Edited February 4, 2011 by al4x
Imperfection
I've used an underlever 22 and it was fine. The magazine is tubular under the barrel and you loaded it by unscrewing the stopper at end and slide the rounds down. One i tried was 15 shot and it cycled very well for a such small calibre. gixer1
A bit late to be asking this isn't it? Shut it! smart ***! I haven't handed over cash yet! Alex, it's more as an addition to my CZ 452...so if it's pants it will get moved on, i'm leaning towards a Winchester 9422M at the moment....plus the fact i've fallen in love with the nostalgic cowboy aspect of them! (the gun, not the cowboys! ) anyone else who wants a read on these - http://www.leverguns.com/articles/marlin_vs_winchester.htm Regards Gixer Edited February 4, 2011 by gixer1
al4x
just make sure you wear your Stetson when you're using it I gather you don't have to ride a horse as well but it does add to the overall effect

al4x
there also is a chance that if you get a horse you won't manage to get it stuck at night while lamping
henry d
Friend of mine has one, bit of a pain as we cannot get a sound mod on it due to the tubular mag under the barrel (Unless anyone knows better ?). Trigger isn`t the best either.

Alycidon
If you must have one make it a Miroku or a Marlin, both decent bits of kit. Last Marlin I handled an elderly gent handed it to me to look at in his front room, I cycled the action and a LIVE round came out, yes the old boy replied we like to keep her loaded just in case !!.
