Medically Discharged from the Army and trying to write a CV , AHHHHHHH

Just get yourself noticed on the job boards. Your phone should start ringing quite soon. Albeit, they'll probably be for sales jobs, but if you're earning nothing at the moment, 18k is at least enough to buy a beer or ten at the weekend and keep you ticking over.

Once you've uploaded your CV to the boards, make sure you go back to each one, by logging in and updating something like your home phone number or email address. When the agencies begin the morning searches, you'll be at the top of the list, as you are deemed as 'actively looking' and the boards push you to the top.

Also, get registered on LinkedIn www.linkedin.com and connect with old work colleagues and bosses. You might find that it'll rekindle an old working relationship and open new doors at the companies they're working at.

Any other help, just ask. I spend about 9 hours a day trawling job boards, so I am happy to divulge tips and tricks to get noticed.

Thought i would update this

First of all I would like to thank everyone for your help :good:

Well my last paid day was 21st July 2011. I have completed NEBOSH courses in General Health and safety Managing , Fire safety and risk assessments and Construction. I passed with Distinctions on all three :D

I have been applying for jobs none stop only got 1 interview so off i go suited and booted. My interview was with the director I thought it was going well until he asked what i was looking for salary wise the advert said 20k but I thought for what they wanted and they need someone that can stand there ground and get the best prices (monthly budget 800k going to 1.6 million in the next few months)so my reply was between 25-28k, and at the end he asked if i could pop back the next day to meet the manager I agreed again I thought it went well then nothing until this morning with a job offer 26.5K to start and room to move up :good:

Most important is get the spelling and grammar correct.

You may not think it but I have seen cv's binned without consideration because they contained errors.

It makes people think that if you can't be bothered to get your cv right then you're probably lazy and not worth employing.

I'll second that. Another point, you can get lots of books from the library on CV writing.
