wol the hunter
We all make mistakes, and when i make one i do not shy away from it ,i learn from it .yesterday in my topic MIXED BAG i was talking about my day.in it i said that i missed a muntjac, now it was assumed that i shot at it with a shotgun,i have never shot at a muntjac as i would only do so if i were to eat it.now 2 weeks ago a shooting friend said if you get the chance of one i will take it and get it oven ready for you.so there i am in a ditch watching 3 tree rats playing and about 15 yards in front of me appears munty,i put cross hairs on his brain box and missed.simple realy gun is zeroed in at 80 yards and with my heart pumping fast and thinking of my weekend dinner with a glass of red wine ,now i have been told that a 22 rimfire is illegal to shoot muntjac only a 240 or bigger will do.i am not even going to dispute this ,as i will learn from it.so cap in hand(realtree)i am sorry if i have offended anybody. al4x
don't worry too much you missed and now know different so no real harm done. I've shot plenty with shotguns years ago when we were clearing out a local shoot as it was totally over run with them obviously using heavy lead but its a grey area law wise. Nildes
Its a brave man who can admit his mistakes on a public bb where butter wouldn't melt in the mouths of many posters. Have a look at the BDS website: https://www.said.net/BDS/default.asp There's a wealth of information there about Deer which might prove useful for the future. saint_george
We are all human. You sure? well some of us are well done mate it takes a big man It takes a gig man??? I am Wol's shooting partner, and those who know him like I do, would never call him big (He's about 5' 2") Seriously though, he takes his shooting very seriously, and knows most of the law and rules inside out, so it's unlike him to make a mistake. Fair play to him for holding his hands up And well done on the new job Wol
