like mine.

quality gun compared to many, but they're also more expensive than most.

personally think you're getting what you pay for compare to say an sx3.

mines a kickoff which i like, but several reviews rated the non kickoff better.

cant comment on that as i've only used the kickoff one, used mainly for clays so no real heavy loads through it.

kickoff is noisy to start with but after a while you dont take any notice of it, had an extrema before and that

was the same.

Great gun, I got mine after a triple heart bypass and wanting to keep my breastbone in one piece, and have no regrets at all.

Shoots well with very little recoil, it has the full kick ease.

I would think the later lighter version would be even better.

If you are down this way you are welcome to have a try of mine.

Regards Mike.

I have the light version, brought it 3 weeks ago.

I'm still breaking it in but I've had trouble with sub 32g loads. To be fair the manufacturer recommends heavy loads but be warned no all grounds allow you to shoot them.

This is probably all common knowledge but caught me out somewhat. I posted about my ammo issues and I've had some recommendations for alternative (sub 32g) cartridges in another thread. Hopefully they'll have greater recoil and help the action work more reliably. But once again the disclaimer: my gun is brand new so I haven't given it enough use for a fair test/review.

My 3 1/2" mag version shot 21 grams, no problem from brand new.

Id expect yours to do the same,

Overall I really enjoyed the A400 and so did several friends who "shared" it with me.

I was a superb gun for shooting bolting rabbits because it was so light and pointable.

It must contain some clever valving because regardless of cartridge, be it a 1oz clay shell or a 2 1/4oz magnum it seemed to spit the spent cases a similar distance my mate sx3 would put the bigger stuff in the next parish

I was sorry to see mine go (bloody cars)

Use the heavy loads like Beretta tell you to, and remember 24gm is supposedly the lowest power cartridge it is designed to cycle - BUT I took mine to a ground in Devon last weekend, and it faultlessly cycled over 100 21gm clay cartridges - not a single missed beat. You just need to put about 50/75 38gm+ through it (I had a burst of childishness and also got 20x 50gm no2's, just because I could :) astonished at the range they broke clays though!)

If you do that, it'll bed in nicely and you'll never have another issue

I think ur lite version should shoot down to 21 grms no problens, how many have you put through it?my A400 recycles 24's faultlessly, but not 21's,but it is 3.5 mag version

It's brand new so only 100 cartridges. What's the next size below 32g is it 28g?

Yes I will have to see how I get on this weekend, hopefully it was just a little grease in the mechanism. Or perhaps the fact that I was shooting down so something was catching when the cartridges were ejecting.

Well I'll have to take a drive to Cardiff or Swindon if I want to do that :)

Thanks for all the advice, sorry for hijacking the thread Mick but it's still a relevant discussion to what you were asking I think.
