Fishermanpaddy
Hi Guys, I was out on Rathlin Island for a night lastnight and took some pics of the local wildlife, just thought I would share. Also could any of you identify the bird in the first pic? I was thinking a Plover but im not sure. Ta

Fishermanpaddy
I'd go with that. Some kind of pipit juvenile Thanks guys. Its about the size of a Blackbird thats why it was confusing. Would Pipits get to that size? I can say for sure that Its quite an amazing place, sorta gives you the feeling of what the mainland should be like. Fishermanpaddy
is there many rabbits on rathlin ive heard its over run with them Yeah there are Rabbits out there but I didnt see them in any great numbers, I seen more Hares. Some silly sod had the bright idea of introducing Ferret Polecats to the island a while back to control the rabbit numbers. Needless to say they preferred the easy pickings of the Guillimots, Kittiwakes, Puffins and all the other sea birds over the Rabbits. Seen one lying dead on the road about 500 meters from the ferry.
