ajm1979
Hi all just back from a new permission, got a phonecall on Moday from a farm I had leaflet dropped about a crow problem. went up and met the farmer on Monday night and had a good scout about to see where stuff was. Set the alarm for 03.45 this morning which was a killer and headed down to the farm. had the hide set up and 8 crow decoys out by 4.15. I must state that I have never done any pigeon or crow decoying so was unsure what to expect.I have a primos crow caller which I have never really got the hang of when I tried it out. Before I had time to drink a cup of coffee from the flask the first birds started flying round. Due to closeness of some of the houses I used the Baikkal moderated .410 for the first couple of hours and shot fifteen which added to the decoy pattern nicely. By this time I had got nicely used to the primos caller and was managing to call them in every five minutes or so. From 6am I started using the 12g over and under as the semi auto is playing up. By 11.00 I had picked up 60 birds and at least 10 lost in hedges, could have carried on all day but ran out of cartridges, I wont admit how many I actually went through as my ratio was appalling I could tell I haven't had a shotgun out for nearly 6 months. Met the farmer in the yard after I had finished and they were over the moon and have already rang a couple of other people they know to spread the word for me....Overall a great morning and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. dolphin
very good bag and if you can put your hide up the night before if its safe that way you save time doing it in the morning also try to put more cover in front such as braches or thread plants or grass in mesh crows soon get wary atb dolphin

steve_b_wales
Excellent shooting. Well done. The Primos caller is, in my opinion, the best on the market. Once mastered, and this is the problem with some people, they don't know how to use it,it's a great caller. I use mine and get excellent results, and can call in Crows,Rooks, and Jackdaw's. Steve. Durham-laddie
It matters not how many cartridges you go through, just as long as you enjoyed the shoot. Well done
