vampire
Have a look on 'muddy fronteras',same as trooper and a lot of the guy have these,i think one of the engine sizes is to be avoided but cant remember which. Very hard wearing and good off road.
MITCHF
Just bought one myself, 3 weeks ago. Can't fault it up to now, done 700 miles. Good performance and power, lots of torque. Economy no worse than my old Disco, 26 ish. Off road it's awsome, honestly can't believe how good it is. You need to check it's history, the 3.0ltr was a later more advanced engine, supposedly. But it need's good regular maintenance, Semi Syth oil and filter every 6k. If you ring IAM with the chassis number they'll tell you if the recall's have been done, if not you can still get them done for free. Try this site for free advice............ www.itocuk.co.uk, remember !people love to tell horror stories on forum's :-) Here's the Isuzu UK link........ http://www.imgroup.co.uk Recalls to check for are.. IZ 04/06/08/17 Good Luck

steyrman
The 3.1 is the one to have but there the older models the 3.0 has some issues with the injectors or fuel system
mfletch
The 3.0 are OK if the recalls has been done I have a 3.0 Citation and love it.
Fatcatsplat
The Vauxhall Monterey is a Trooper in disguise, not the Frontera. Yup - That's what we got - 3.2 litre V6 in Petrol - It's thirsty, but lovely
mick miller
We used and abused one on site for a couple of years and found it to be capable and reliable.

mitch66
I Had the 3.0ltr citation (import) fantastic, off road, never let me down, check the recalls have been done though, especially injectors, there have been cases of seal failure & the engine getting contaminated with diesel, end result a big bill if not caught quickly !! I had mine done under a recall plus they replaced the loom, £1200, full marks to Isuzu as it was a 52 plate with 55k on. the 3.1 ltr is a better bet if you can get a good one Edited July 5, 2011 by mitch66
ziplex
I had a 3.1d Monteray, (boss's cast off), some years back and it was very reliable, mid 20's on fuel and great off road. Probably the most comfy seats i've sat in too In the end too many motorway miles at highish speeds killed it but me and the family loved it.
