Browning
KR, I used to use the Blade Tech sharpener, and thought it was good......until I got a Lansky System! Lansky really are the best !
henry d
Lansky etc are extremely good but for field sharpening it has to be Blade Tech. Well worth the dosh :(
king ratcatcher
looks like it wil lbe the blade tech one then, just looked at the lansky sharpeners on ebay and there going for £45. the blade teches are going for £10 :(
Dunkield
There is a bit of a difference here though. The lansky system is for putting a fine edge on quality knives, whereas the blade tech will take a fair chunk off each time you use it. The blade tech is aimed more at the 'larder knife' market, where you have have cheap disposable knife that takes a good hammering then gets chucked in the bin. If you knife is made of decent steel, I would recommend one of the pocket ceramic sharpners for the field (gerber do one for about a fiver) and the lansky system for home. BTW I paid £29 for my Lansky - so someone is having a laugh on ebay... Edited April 18, 2006 by stuartp
henry d
Try here and see the prices for Lansky http://www.attacc.com/index.html Basic kit is £27which is a good start IMO.
