ack-ack
Looks like it was lip hooked. Bet you was pleased about that! When you see the pro's sticking half their arm down their gullets to retrieve hooks it sends a bit of a shiver down my spine, especially when they come out with cuts all over their forearms. Nice fish but I'll leave them to you lot if its all the same!
TaxiDriver
Bit of a shocker that popping up instead of a silver bream then :o I remember as a kid, there was a lot of ducks getting taken off the surface of a lake in Billericay, everyone thought it was a big pike and a competition was even run to catch it, but there wasalso speculation that it might have been a big catfish. Looking at your pics I could imagine if you were a duck and that came up underneath you it could easily pull you down under the surface. Whitebridges
Nice fish EE. I've been watching a few old Matt Hayes programmes of late where he and friends have been hauling these fish in. The look great monsters to catch.
Evil Elvis
pound for pound this size 30-40 are the hardest fisghting fish youll ever encounter, they slow down a bit as they get bigger but the 30-40's are tearaways!! scream up and down the lake like nuttas, great fun, 3lb tc rod, 17lb line giant 6500 baitrunners and It still took the pee out of me.There are cats in there to 80lb...allegedly Edited July 21, 2011 by Evil Elvis
