Gadge-it
A chap I somtimes shoot with uses a motorcycle battery Do those bike batterys last long,i think that a bigger possible car battery would last the day
Tiger955i
HI Mate I certainly seems to last the day and it is a lot lighter to carry than a car battery. It is about the same size as the battery in my 955. Hope this helps

wymberley
Really, it's a case of cart and horse. Even if you haven't got the kit/knowhow, I'm sure you've got a pet electrician somewhere. Get the rotary checked to find out how much power (amps) it's pulling. Then decide realistically how long you'd like the battery to last before recharging. Given that info you can then decide what battery size you require and specifically target the correct item and not go spending on something that you don't need. dave1419
Try A1 Decoy shooting shop--they sell them, would of thought that a 12amp/hr battery would suit---Dave
darrin
As long as its 12 volts and you can connect it to your rotary it will work. The AH (Amp Hours) rating tells you how much power is in the battery and how long it is likely to last. A rotary pulls about 1.5 amps per hour so a 12v 7ah battery will power it for about 3-4 hours, 12v 12ah for about 5-6 hours and so on. The more amp hours the bigger the battery and the more expensive. If you can lump a car battery about and you adapt your rotary connections to fit, you will get the best bang for your buck. svloopy
If you know anyone who fits burglar alarm systems they have the perfect batteries to run a magnet, all 12volt and selection of amp from 7 - 17 and they usually have several used batteries from having to do alarm upgrades for people that they will be happy to give away.
