kdubya
hawkeye and myself set up today at about 2pm two group pattern and a magnet, birds flying in for a look but not committing changed magnet position fiddled with pattern you name it we tried it, got about 6 or 7 down by 4pm, all fallen birds added to pattern, I then said stuff this, walked back to my truck and brought back another magnet and battery, set the magnet up alongside the existing one, and literally just got back in the hide and in came 5 birds they steamed in to the magnets, the next two hours produced cracking sport giving us a total of 85 birds before rain stopped play, pic shows about 73 still had a little picking up to do in the wheat field behind us, use of two magnets is a trick that's worked for me before, and it certainly worked well today. hawkeye
Marco was completely knackered wasn't even interested in going for a walk tonight .Typical springer did 3 laps of the field every time he was sent for a bird... I think it's something to do with kdubya he usually goes in a reasonable straight line to pick up but not when Keith is with us. Best laugh was i had been out of the hide picking up with the dog while kdubya does **** all as usual (only joking) anyhow told marco to get on his bed he shot into the hide, i have a new hide seat that has a strap for carrying it well the next thing the dog comes charging out of the hide with the strap round his neck, yelping like hell as the seat kept on hitting him on the **** it was a bit hilarious to say the least had a right job in getting him to stop so i could have my seat back..

Frenchieboy
Great tip guys using 2 magnets when the birds will not commit to one! A video of Marco "carrying" the seat would have been a nice thing to share mate!

A video of Marco "carrying" the seat would have been a nice thing to share mate! We don't normally use magnets but there was no wind for the floaters and as kdubya said we have used 2 magnets before its just some thing different and quite often it works... :good:
