Dave-G
What do you reckon gents? The clip below is all about how good a Sony Camcorder is in nite-shot mode. The chaps doing this series of clips are doing well with it at air rifle and rimfire ranges but are trying to convince people looking to commence night vision that it's do-able at centre fire ranges for foxing. The camcorder footage commences at about 1.40 minutes into the clip and the shot was taken while the fox was barely visible. Two IR lasers seemed to be required and please carefully count the footsteps back to the truck of the guy carrying his 'prize' The comments that people can make on the clip are "to be approved before publishing" or words to that effect so only the comments of people who cannot see the deception will be allowed. It a shame because the gear looks very useable at air rifle - and possibly even moderate rimfire range but the distance the bloke claims totally discredits the rest of their claims. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DLZjdZCqck Edited September 4, 2011 by Dave-G

Luckyshot
I imagine about 90 yards. Counting the steps I would agree with the answer above Edited September 4, 2011 by Luckyshot

bobo
What a pair of cretins, theres so much wrong with this video. The squeaking for starters, the shooting the cubs when the adults still living, the guy shouting when they got the first one instead of trying for another and of course the lying about the range. They are a pair of amatuer midnight cowboys.
Dave-G
Ah - I'm glad it's not just me being a Victor Meldrew type then. The amount of people that seem to have fallen for the hype on the NV section of the bbs is amazing. And there are now people paying stoopit money for old bulled up Sony camcorders. Frenchieboy
Covering 170 yards with 102 paces? That guy must have awful long legs! Judging by the lenght of his paces I would have thought it was about 70 to 80 yards maximum! Do they think that poeple are too stupid to realise thinks like that? :hmm:
pigeon street
a yard is a short step. I recon 90 to 100 yards plus easy. he took around 110 steps (he through the fox the last couple) an average step is just over a yard but he may have taken a few short ones. huntsman
The footage was good but maybe their perception of measurement is innacurate,Not all people are able to estimate distances, Lads keep up the good work,as the shooting and video footage was excellant for a sony camera. I am sure there are more on here will be interested in seeing more there are too many on here ready to codone, constructive criticisim is welcomed, but to call them cretins is not what people want to read !!!!! Edited September 6, 2011 by huntsman
