Axe
Went out yesterday evening for a couple of hours on about 15 acres equestrian land. I was amazed to see the numbers I did when I turned. I spoke to some of the horse owners who were quite frankly winging about the rabbits and the damage they are causing. Well, with the 17HMR bolted in I entered the first field and within minutes had my first Rabbit. All were taken between 50-100 yards and all were head shots. Total count was 14 as one fell down a rather big hole and couldnt not be retrieved. I don't normally go for the smaller rabbits but last night was pure pest control. The result is plain to see. Pic quality is not very good as I used the phone, sorry.

Mungler
Did the shop run out of big scopes?
Axe
Whats that tiny gun you have underslung on the scope there? That'll be my beloved Sako Quad with the 17HMR on it. Did the shop run out of big scopes? I have to run with the 75mm sun shade on it when lamping, as without it I get quite abit of glare bouncing back from the edge of the moderator. And when picking out a pair of eye at 100yards at night, you really don't need that annoying grey out that you get with bad lighting. Dunkield
Well shot Axe Sounds like bit of 'scope envy' there (even though it only the shade that makes it look big) better not go to the toliet with those boys

Axe
Sorry chap, I should have said nice shooting too, and lovely gun & scope combo!well done that man Andy no probs mate and thanks. I guess it does look a little bizarre with the sun shade on, maybe I should have left the light on it, people might have figured it out then. For those interested the scope is a Nikko Stirling Nighteater 6-24x56 30mm.
al4x
Good going Axe, I take it the horses were out of the way. Mine seems to wind them up no end if we're anywhere near their fields. its one circumstance where the .22 might be needed
Axe
Good going Axe, I take it the horses were out of the way. Mine seems to wind them up no end if we're anywhere near their fields. its one circumstance where the .22 might be needed Its funny but these particular horses are acustomed to the rifle, besides they are happily housed in the stables when I go out. The owners don't like taking them in early unless i'm there to clear the rabbits. So that goes to show just how much they hate the little pests. One of the owners actually expressed her dislike to shooting in general, but for rabbits it was ok. Who am I to argue.
al4x
thats very much unlike where I shoot, they hate us shooting and one of the girls lives right opposite the farm so hears most things and complains. Fortunately its usually my shooting partner who makes the shots right outside her house, but then he's the farmer who gets to say ******** to her
