majordisorder
Been looking at 9mm as it looks cheap as chips for reloading but have heard it's a bit hard to download it to the range limit of 1410 ft/sec, any ideas / sites / comments? M.I.A
You would be able to drop it down way below that if you are reloading - Just looked in one of my load books and if you are using 125g projectile, with the following Vectan powders you will get: BA10 (2.3gr) 885 FPS AS (3.0gr) 984 FPS A1 (3.4gr) 1017 FPS BA9 (4.3gr) 1082 FPS Will obviously vary some what depending on components you use but you wont end up anywhere near your limit Edited October 14, 2011 by M.I.A
Catweazle
You should be fine if you use 125grn heads.
Harnser
If my memory serves me correctly from my pistol shooting days ,standard 9 mil rounds didnt make 1400 feet per second . some used to stoke them up abit to make major in practical pistol . I would assume he is going to put them through a rifle... pushing the fps a bit over compared to same round fired from a pistol
Vince Green
9mm is below 1400 fps. Best accuracy comes from the heavier bullets anyway so velocity is not a problem. Surely indoor ranges are 1600 fps anyway not 1400 so plenty of margin. Best powder is Vhit N340 by a long way Edited October 14, 2011 by Vince Green

I've seen a few mentions of the differences required between a pistol and rifle load due to barrel length, what do you need to consider for that? A fast burning powder like Bullseye in a long barrel will reduce your fps to below 1400. I use Alliant powders.Check their website out.
