PaulABF
I did my General certificate Part 1,2 and 3 on a 3 week intensive course back in June. I came away with a distinction but that's more the product of a very good instructor and not my health and safety skills. Found it quite interesting. Lot of reading to do though on the various rules, regs, acts etc.
kdubya
I have a nebosh cert did mine about 15 years ago, it was "heavy" to say the least what with the time involved to swat up, then the two-part exam and the practical, plus report writing. At one time it was a license to walk into a job , unfortunately now a diploma is the way, far harder. KW

fruity
I got to get this done ASAP gents, Whats the most recent costs, and whats the pro's of this against IOSH? Tom IOSH isnt a formal qualification and covers the basics of the health / safety , it dosent go into the legislation of health /safety just give basic and practical course for around £500 and only 4 days ish NEBOSH is the full on recognised level 3 course about 2/ 2 half weeks long depending where you go and costs around £1600 ish , it gives you the full package of management health / safety , legislation etc , hard work but worth it i think , hope this helps it was a while ago when i done it so prices may be different now

wingnut
I did my Nebosh in 2007 at Worksop college, 1 day p/week for 12 weeks and then had to do the exams, i found it pretty hard going to start with as i had not been in a classroom environment for more than 30 years, i was advised to do it this way as the 10 day block course was too intense. I managed to pass with a distinction and it enabled me to become a Health and safety trainer,The Iosh 4 day course is a good practical course but does not go into as much detail as the Nebosh, but is still seen as many as the first step required to be a site supervisor / manager. I still have a fair bit of my old revision notes etc on my computer, if you need any help give us a shout.
