Coolhead
For obvious reasons there isn't much of a market for pistol accessories. You could try one of those tactical units that clamp to the frame from an Airsoft.

Yes if you can get past export restrictions you will get parts in the US.
Scully
Try www.lowmillrange.co.uk of Cleator Moor.If memory serves me they use to supply picatinny rails for 1911's.They do a lot of practical pistol custom work so should be able to help. Pastiebap
Try speaking to an RFD in Northern Ireland, there is much more demand for that sort of thing here compared to mainland UK.

Where are you located? I assume (always dangerous) you are talking the Browning/Remington Semi, they are near impossible to get legally in England/Wales/Scotland for club work! workaholic shooter
Hi is you 1911 an airpistol or centrefire pistol, if it is an airpistol you can get a mount from walther that slips into the rear mount, you slide out the open sight and slide in the mount rail and tighten two grub screws. This gives you adovetail to slide your scopemounts onto.
