If you are not going to answer them all day or answer texts, don't have the bloody things.

Idiots!! The whole point of them being mobile is that people can get in touch when they need to

Edit: This post particularly goes out to my elderly Mum who has three on different networks and never answers any of them. Panic Stations

God yeah, Elderly mothers, seconded by idiot wives.

My mother only puts hers on when SHE wants to ring someone ie when she wants something.

I get the same - years ago my then girlfriend has a nasty crash in her car enroute to work, I was trying to get hold of her for a long time until news got through to me what had happened - horrible! My wife now wonders why I get some 'upset' (angry!) when she doesnt answer her phone for more than 2 attempts of ringing!

I have a mobile - at moment it's on "airplane" mode - if anyone want's me they can ring my landline - I never reply to text's as it cost's me 10p a throw just to answer some stupid question that could have been asked on a landline phone call -- I never use traders who just give mobile numbers as it costs me a fortune to ring them - by way I am on PAYG -- Mobiles are handy and when I am out the phone is on as is wifes but they are for important call's -- Mobile's are handy but not the bee all and end all.-- How people would get on if we still had pagers I don't know -- beep beep - stop at phone box - Ahh good old days. :good:

Good old days my ****! Trying to find a working phone box, trying to keep enough change in my pocket to make as many calls as required in a day, trying to keep my temper after being moaned at for how long it's taken to make that call from being paged!!!!

As for never using traders if you have to call a mobile, you've limited yourself to companies who run an office...therefore they must have higher overheads and as such need to charge you more to actually do the job...than the man who is working out of his van and a mobile. Congratulations, you've saved pennies to spend pounds more.

Am I reading this right?

Your posting calling your "elderly mum" and "idiot" for not answering her phone!

You sound like a really nice son!!

Just a suggestion, but has it ever crossed your mind that maybe she just doesn't want to talk to you? I can't imagine why.......
