Axe
I'm still convinced this is a wind up, either way, im gonna try my rabbit distress call amongst rabbits that are out to see what reacition they give. I must admit though, I have noticed that Fox calling doesnt seem to bother them, so maybe there is some truth in it somewhere. Good shooting either way, but make sure they are clear of the burrow. You don't want a rabbit going down the hole, once shot.
Stealth Stalker
It's no wind up axe, I placed myself beside a tree about 30yds from a cluster of about 8 holes, there was no rabbits out at all. Gave the squeak as described by Fulltime for about 30 secs then waited probably another 30 secs. Then out pops bunny, it may just be a coincidence, but I'd like to think I played a role in coaxing her out. I will certainly be trying it again. As regard to shooting it outside the burrow, point taken. No one wants a wounded bunny underground. Cheers SS
Axe
Well I tried this last night and can't honestly say it didnt make anything appear. However, I was walking across a field when I noticed a group of 3 rabbits sitting out at about 140yards. I made my way in to arounf 90yards and laid up on the bi-pods. Squeezed the trigger and down fell the first. Normally at this point the remaining rabbits would sit for about 5 seconds and then run off into cover. Well they did run but I decided to give them a distress call and low and behold they stopped at the hedge line. I was surprised to say the least. I moved into position about 110yards and down went No.2. So I guess if nothing else, it catches thier attention. Its curious thing though, why a rabbit would stick around when a distress call is given, is beyond me.
Stealth Stalker
See it doesn't hurt to try something new Axe, if you hadn't squeaked No2 would have been long gone I think rabbits can be quite inquisitive creatures at times. I've shot rabbits before, and had there mate come over to see why they've just layed down & gone to sleep Needless to say they joined them in bed Nice shooting by the way SS

palombier
Axe this is not a wind-up.It has worked for me when there are rabbits out feeding in a field slightly away from their burrows. I have never tried squeaking them from their holes though. My best effort was when I got 3 rabbits out of about a dozen to come some 50 yards to within about 4 metres of me. When I first did it as an experiment I was quite staggered. P
Axe
Well its caught my attention, least I can do is run with it for a while to see if it really does help in the fields I shoot on. And besides, if I do end up looking like a right charlie whistling me rabbits, I can always get the charlie thats bound to respond.

30-6
Try it with magpies, but what I find is they either are around and come in right away or not at all. I,ve only ever used a shotgun trying this with some coming in sqwuaking others coming in silent.
Pedro
I tried it on the pet rabbit, (don't ask, nothing to do with me), and got no reaction at all P.
