steve_b_wales
Get the UK shootwarehouse ones. I've got two and they are brilliant, The company also sell replacement motors for them, should you ever need to replace one.

browning n spaniel
I find it a magic bit of kit , 200 times beta the the rotorary, with rotorary you cauld see the birds comming to you then at 80 odd yards just shy away from it, That dont happen with the flapper they just see it a just keep coming , alot of move ment but not the wait to keep carrying about :good: mate i just found his number is any good to you, hes nice lad but ****** can he talk his name andy , Edited November 29, 2011 by Cranfield Don't post other peoples phone numbers. Mike525steel
Spinners are better on windy days Flappers especially turbo flappers are great but I've found they can struggle a bit in a good headwind. But on the upside you can just take the battery off and they look pretty good anyway Edited November 27, 2011 by Mike525steel
browning n spaniel
trouble i found with magnets is there fine for 1st 10 birds , them 10 birds come in to decoys, shoot 2, 8 of um have seen what happend when they fly over a magnet and you dont see those again, before i had my flappers id put magnet out , then bring it in after 45 mins or so, that was the best it ever worked for me, thinking now £200 what i cost me would of bought a lot of flappers

browning n spaniel
i use 2, some of my mates use 5,6 but it dont make any better shooting, personly i think you can put the birds off if there to much movement within the pattern, but thats only my views
yickdaz
rotarys still have there place, when positioned in the right spot but, i was using my turbo flapper more than the rotary on stubbles august sept, and just the one works just fine along with dead birds for decoys and if any crows head in your direction while pigeon shooting they will keep on coming and even have a look at the decoys whereas they normally flare away from a rotary with pigeons on it
proTOM1
For me you still cant beat the rotary ive shot 1000s over the rotary over the years and still will not leave home with out mine .I have been using my mates a1 flapper with remote and found it very good may get 1 in the future but still love the rotary for its pulling power
andy_s
Sorry to jump on the post but does anyone know the difference between the different flappers on the aadecoys website. pigeon flapper £29, pecker/flapper £29, pecker/flapper/rotator £39 and turbocharged flapper £50. The turbocharged flapper comes with a timer but that surely can't be the only difference.
browning n spaniel
if you on to A1 decoys website [different company i know] theres a vidieo of the 3 decoys that your talking about, aa decoys are the same
darrin
The £29 one is an old fashioned cradle type from AA decoys and is very slow. I upgraded mine by fitting a 300 rmp motor for £7 (advice from some another shooter on here) and it seems to work just fine. I also brought a turbo flapper off them for £50 which looks and so far works the same as the more expensive one from the site sponsors. The turbo is easier to mount and looks more like a pigeon landing. You pays your money and you takes your chance. I've had a pretty good year on the pigeons - nearly 3000 now - and i've used the magnet in almost every session. I believe where people have problems with birds flaring from magnets, is when they chase around the same bunch of pigeons too often.

Totally agree with you Motty, but taking an educated guess, the guys like yourself and Tom who obviously have lots of permision to shoot on, you can spread your shooting around and not 'chase the same bunch of pigeons', and therefore will be more successful with the magnet. Off course I'm not including experience, magnet placing etc.... But that fact alone would be a major culprit for magnet success or failure. Incorrect magnet placement as you know can be the whole reason for an unsuccessful shooting session, I think the flapper is much more forgiving in where it needs to be, therefore less experienced guys could find the flapper more successful without really understanding why. Matt Gould
i think the magnets will give you the biggest bag on somedays but you will need to be prepared to bring it in if not working. you need back up methods like flappers....... incase it does not work. ive not been into pigeon shooting long but from what i have done i have learnt not to just sit in the hide if things are not working the thing is to keep making changes, change the decoy, bring magnet in,put flapper out....... i think magnets can work on shoots what are shot regulary, it just depends on what the birds want on the day
Cosd
Magnets for experts, flappers for thick ****ers who only got window boxes instead of 10,000 acres I'll start a new Post so I don't de-rail this one! You're more than welcome to throw any wit or sarcasm on that one, I'm a bit baffled as to which way you have gone. Cos
Cranfield
It is rather foolish to discount any decoying equipment totally, especially the rotary. I have used them since they first appeared with continuing success and I am shooting up to 5 days a week. Flappers, floaters, bouncers, all have their good days and bad days, some days no decoys will work. If I was only allowed one piece of electronic equipment, it would be a rotary. browning n spaniel
each to there own ,got no problem with what other people use and swear by, everyones got there favorts, but being told people that use flappers, instead of a magnet because they dont have a clue on how to use them is below the belt
