Depends on what your gun's chamber length's are.

If 2 3/4", i'd recommend some RC 40's in BB or No.2, or Express Super Game 42g No.1

If 3", i'd recommend either the RC 50's in BB or No.2 or Gamebore Mammouth Magnum 50g BB, or Fiocchi Magnum 52g BB.

No wonder if you only had some 28g cart's in No.5 shot and TBH you shouldn't have bothered to try and shoot it. :/ :/ :/

I had a fox today and it took me 5 shot's to drop it dead. All of the cartridges were 42g+ with the smallest shot being No.2. The fox was hit with every shot (as he kept on getting twisted by every shot) but kept going eventhough i thought it was amazing that he could keep on going. The fox was about 40-45 yards when the first shot was taken and kept on running towards me, and finally dropped at about 15 yards away from me

Yeah number 5's are way to small. Go for some bb's. That's why it got up. You are shooting foxes with a light pigeon load really. I tend to not shoot pigeons with less than 30 grams of no 6's. So the load your using is inadequate.

You have just wounded it with those carts. Did you manage to kill it ? Or did it get away

i've dropped fox's with 32g no5's between 20-30yrds with my old baikal that was choked 1/2-3/4 and only gave it a second one for good measure, are you sure you was hitting it? :hmm::/ i only used them as they was what was in at the time but they did the job well. i prefere no3's as they pattern really well, i tend not to push it out past 30-35yrds so they are more than adequate.

To be honest at 20 yards shot 3 times with any cartridge the fox would have dropped if shot any where in the front end. So either it was alot further away or you were shooting it up the ****.

I'm with luckyshot on this one shot them at that range with no 6 in a 20 bore.

As to best for fox bb 1,2'or3 in 12gauge.

not with these rubbish carts

I don't think you can blame the cartridges.

Everyone knows if you point the barrels in the right place you'll kill it.

Are you sure your gun fits properly? A good coach will help you with that.

Get yourself some snap caps and practice your mount is the best advice I can give. :good:
